It's all about opinions fella, I could turn it around and say you're an idiot for not realising we're in a massive downward spiral but I won't because I'm better than that. By all means give your opinion and reasoning behind it, no need to get abusive though <ok>

Opinions are what it's all about, if we all agreed with each other all the time there wouldn't be as much to discuss and the board would get boring and people would leave and pretty soon there'd be no not606.

It ought to be illegal making a wind-up like this when Mark Hughes is roaming around looking for a club to bugger up...

    Here we go again.
I had a sharp 'discussion' coming out of the Swansea match with someone calling for Pardew's head.

When will people learn to give things time!

We can't keep changing manager and expect long-term improvements. I know things aren't great at the minute, but let's keep it real people. 7

Who will come? What will it cost? Who will stay? How long before people call for them to be sacked?

    Sound familiar???

    Keep the faith!!!

Keep the faith in what though?

In the same set piece we've had for the entirety of Pardew's reign?

Or in the SAME long ball Allardyce had us playing (and got sacked for even though it was producing better results than we are currently)?

Or in the 4-4-2 where our two strikers simply don't function?

Or in the stupid high line of defence we play even though our back four are from the quickest?

Or in the "give it to Ben Arfa and hope for the best" tactic when the long ball game plan is inevitably failing?

When Pardew changes some of the above he will begin to earn back my faith, until then I'll openly criticise him on here (I'd never shout abuse at a match as it doesn't achieve anything positive for the team).

Not disagreeing that it's not our team mate, I'd support us if we were in league one, I'm stuck with the toon for life just like they're stuck with me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Our team and manager (more so the manager for me) are doing very little to give me something to have faith in currently, we even gave up with 10 minutes to go against Southampton (first time that's happened under Pardew).

Next time you want to make a wind up Tash just take a moment and think "do i really need to breathe in and out?". Then just stop.

ps. Pardew will come good again, I have no overbearing concerns.

I agree with all of this... and to those that are saying keep the faith (I'm still hoping that it'll turn itself around but this has gone on since the begining of the season). How long are we as fans supposed to wait for things to change?

Also at what point, if any should we stop?

These things that have been brought up in the quoted post have been ever present since the beginning of the season and don't seem to be changing any time soon. The West Ham game was supposed to be a blip but the rot doesn't seem to have stopped and continued into the Swansea game and now the Southampton game. We don't exactly have a tastey run coming up either.

You can blame injuries to "key" personnel, but nobodys really been stepping up (only Santon aside IMO).

Like I say I'm still hoping that things will turn around and we'll eventually "click" but how have things gone so bad in the space of the summer I'll never know. Personnel haven't changed can't really blame tiredness as most teams have players who were either at internationals etc...

Graeme Souness once said that Newcastle United was only ever 3 games away from a crisis... i'm starting to see what he means when I have to read the sort of negative bullshit that you're currently spewing. <ok>

    1. Keep the faith in the manager & players who qualified for Europe last season - not to mention the manager of the year awards.

    2. Set pieces tend to be similar when taken by the same person <doh> If we had dead-ball options, we would use them. Cabaye and Raylor are the only established set piece takers we have... both currently injured - you're bound to see something different soon enough.

    3. The formation is of little consequence, players form most certainly is. Cisse hasn't got his season started and Ba is in a dip. Nobody except Colo, Cabaye & Hatem have shown any sign of form this season... yet.

    4. See the above sentence concerning players form when speaking about defensive line.

It's very easy to be a negative hater - you've embraced this easy option far too happily in my humble opinion. It's knee-jerkers like you who want a different manager every time we have a slump... Stamford Bridge is due south... <cheers>

13 games isn't a slump, it's 6 games off half a season. We've scored 1 goal from our last 200 and something corners, so your set piece statement is garbage because we've been awful at them ever since Pardew took over. I'm pretty sure Raylor & Cabaye have taken over half of those 200 odd!

Your statement about players not showing form, well hate to break this to you but it's the managers job to motivate the players <doh>

You've got blind faith in my opinion, we can disagree, that's fine...no need to be patronising with it <ok>

We have the same players and the same manager who qualified for Europe. My "blind faith" is nothing of the sort - it's faith with my eyes wide open... so wide open that I can still recall last season. Yes, the season where we were flying. This season we have reasons to be concerned in that we haven't bought enough quality players, we are having to play many more matches because of the Europa League and we are currently in the midst of an injury crisis.

I see no reason to change the manager as the playing in Europe is a 'problem' that we will hopefully have to get used to. <ok>

Alan Pardew is nowhere near the class of Sir Bobby Robson, so we shouldn't expect him to to perform like the great man did.

Patronising? <doh> I wasn't attempting that in the slightest, but if it helps with your distraction tactic, i'll happily oblige.

It's not a distraction tactic mate, I'll happily admit I don't have faith in the current manager. I see you nicely dodged my comment on our set pieces though <ok>

No, the set pieces are nothing to shout about and it is poor... but that doesn't detract from the fact that we finished 5th in the Barclays Premier League despite this. <ok>

Our manager and players haven't suddenly become useless because of a poor season so far - let's see where we are the other side of Christmas, perhaps then we can all start to panic! <yikes>
