to welcome back Mark Clattenburg before our game with Norwich! Did Nigel miss an opportunity? Do you think decisions might go for Norwich?
I don't understand why this is even an issue. Adkins said exactly the same thing in his press conference on Friday, in response to a question about Clattenburg, and no doubt Hughton was asked a similar question and gave a similar answer.
Don't think it will affect his decisions. However, I do think it would be good if we in the stands showed him some support (maybe chanting his name or something) as he was so poorly treated through the situation.
We should do that just because we'd be the first fans ever to chant a referee's name! (And the referee's a ****er doesn't count!)
Nigel Adkins was asked the same question in his press conference and gave pretty much the same answer as Chris Houghton did. You can watch the interview for yourself on Saints Player.
I don't think Clattenburg gives a **** what anyone thinks. He's always given me the impression that he calls things how he sees them. Whether he gets decisions right or wrong is another matter but I feel he's a fair ref in the sense he isn't biased to anyone
Our game has been chosen because of Chris Hughton being the only black Premiership manager.Good diplomacy.
#Ebony And Ivory live together in perfect harmony Side by side in St Marys stadium Saints and the referee#
You would hope that his appointment wasnt for this reason surely. Chris Hughton is a damn good manager and i seems like a decent guy too, no matter what the colour of his skin is. You would hope that the ref would be chosen for a game because of any reason but the race of either manager. By the way it will be great to see two good young Englsh managers with two good footballing teams doing battle tomorrow night.
Doubt it was about Hughton's colour. Saints v Norwich has to be a nice safe bet...both have good, generally well behaved, sets of fans.
