I sit in the east lower, block 30. I could hear them singing but couldn't hear what. Before the game I was in the kings head at Liverpool street and a few of them were starting to sing lazio songs but it never really got going
Original spurcat, Heard that tune from them but couldn't make out the words being sung. Heard the di canio chants early on but most of the rest was shouted down The only one I heard clearly was their ****ing bubbles song. Scum songs from scum fans
I wasn't for one minute getting at you mate, I was just a bit surprised you didn't make the words out. As I said earlier, it takes a lot to disgust me, but that stuff today was way out of order. .
Some songs you just have to know the words to pick up. I remember shouting "we can't f---ing understand you" at Boro fans which was followed by the whole South Lower singing "we only speak English" much to Boro fans' confusion. I've been to Middlesbrough before and their accents aren't hard to understand but when I was only a block(might've been less) away from a few thousand of them I couldn't make out more than the tune and the odd word of some songs
can't stand west ham because of some of their fans they're the club I most enjoy watching us win against - can't say how much loved it today - but it was a lot
Noticed the FA comment that they would wait for the refs report before taking action. Does this give them some kind of excuse not to do anything? After all, there is no guarantee the ref heard anything, the ref should be concerned with matters on the pitch. Also remember when the ref fails to note an incident on the pitch during the match the FA then say they can take action (unlike when the ref gets it wrong the FA claim they can't do anything even when they can). I hope now they don't use the reverse logic and say that because the ref didn't report it, it didn't happen! Basically this is something the ref should have nothing to do with. There are plenty of people who heard what happened. Let's see if they're prepared to take action on the basis of that, which they clearly should do. Anyone heard anything from the Society of Black Lawyers on the matter? There needs to be perspective on this chanting, the nazi references go way above most any other vile chant there is, but if often grouped in with everything else in total ignorance of history.
You're right of course but I think there's a different official that can write a report about chanting. I remember when England travelled to Serbia they had an official there who could do just that too. With the amount of cameras, microphones and evidence they'll get from Spurs fans there shouldn't be any difficulty in realising what they were singing and how many were involved. The FA have no excuse but to act, particularly if the Hitler chants and hissing can be proven. As for the SBL, I'll be glad if we never hear from them again Their response will just be that we're to blame for chanting that we're the Yid Army, or some nonsense.
I wouldn't have blamed him for turning away, sticking his fingers in his ears and going "lalalalalalala". The last thing that poor guy needs to be caught up in is another racism scandal!
The BBC finally deigned to report it this morning, more than 12 hours after everyone else, after The FA said they would look into it.
2 down, now for the rest... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...t-about-anti-Semitic-chants-at-Spurs-tie.html
They were a f*cking disgrace. I love a London derby but they were just a bloody joke and over stepped the mark big time. I had the unfortunate pleasure of sitting right next to them (though turned into a fortunate after 65 mins seeing their fire drill take place ) . I could hear hissing albeit is was from a select few and then everyone was well aware of the "Can we stab you every week", "Hitlers coming for you" and "Viva Lazio" chants by the majority of them. Absolute w*nkers. Didn't help before the game too that a middle aged d*ckhead decided to grab and then shove my 17 year old cousin for no bloody reason which ended up in me launching him at the wall outside Rudolphs/ Valentino's, telling him to man up and not go for a minor only to then have the police have a go at me while he got off scott free! Really do despise West Ham with a huge passion and yesterday strengthened that.
So have The Board of Deputies of British Jews, perhaps a more appropriate group to take up the cause. http://www.bod.org.uk/live/content.php?Item_ID=130&Blog_ID=597
The Telegraph have noticed the BBC's total lack of coverage on MOTD2: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ting-by-West-Ham-fans-at-White-Hart-Lane.html
And then I read the comments section underneath, which rapidly turned into Islam-bashing. Also, the article cited a show featuring Guillem Balague as the model for MOTD. Not exactly good for the journalist's credibility that one...
Yossi Benayoun has said that he was embarrassed by the behaviour of the West Ham fans yesterday. Reminiscent of the Chelsea fans in the Carling Cup Final and Avram Grant.
Oh look, the BBC is giving Herbert air time on it's ten o'clock news. A marriage made in...well, somewhere!..
