Anita should never have been subbed, though odds are he's also picked up an injury. Our English players are god awful. Compare Santon's composure on the ball to either of the other 3 defenders today and you see why we've resorted to hoofball. Jonas shouldn't be allowed near the team again, we looked like we had 3 midfielders playing today, he was that anonymous.

To turn things around, I think we need to get Colo back and drop Jonas. We need Colo's composure in defence and Jonas is quite simply at the end of his career. Marveaux is an infinitely better winger. January couldn't come soon enough for us.

Quite possibly but we've been so **** of late its hard to pinpoint. Who knows but getting on theirs and the managers backs is guaranteed to not help. Here's hoping for we can grind this out. Ah well football is a funny old game, time for some rum! Vettel is in the process of compounding the day too :(

Jonas has been the player that we've shifted round the most over the last season with changing formations. When it was going well he looked comfortable in most positions, now it's not going well he looks lost and uncertain. The major issue we have is confidence, we've lost Tiote and Colo to suspension, HBA and Cabaye to injury and this has disrupted our team selection but we've not got the swagger of last season and look vunerable.

I don't think we'll get relegated, but 11th-17th is no achievement either. We have the players to turn our season around, unfortunately we don't have the manager to match.

We're yet to win a game when we've conceded first under Pardew, a reasonable explanation for this would be poor substitutions and inability to switch formation in order to impact the game.

We have one clean sheet all season and in that game Norwich created some very good chances and should have scored.

Our set pieces are the worst in all four professional divisions.

Our long ball game is boring to watch and ineffective, it's exactly what Allardyce got sacked for.

We continually play Ba and Cisse as an orthodox front two when it's been proven they don't work well in such a system.

All of the above are facts (pretty much) and worrying facts at that. Some people can chose to ignore them and call me (and others) fickle. In my opinion the people that choose to ignore the facts are showing too much blind faith in the manager.

Am l disappointed , too right l am, with our performance of course because l want my team to play with flair and fight to the death, l want us to be solid and work for each other as a team. I don't mind losing so much, so long as we put in a performance we can be proud of.

But what disappoints me most is logging onto the forum and seeing the negative, knee-jerk reactions that have been posted, it's just so typical. I had half hoped not to see talk of sackings and relegation, but no.

If we do have a mare of a season and get relegated and l for one think it's far to soon to be that pessimistic, we will still love our club and support them regardless, in the meantime although l know it hurts, let's just try not to crucify Pards and the lads eh?

I agree with this. Whilst his tactics and subs have been questionable recently, to start that cycle of sacking managers as soon as we hit a rough patch is not going to do us any good.

Five of our next seven league games:

    Stoke (A)
    Fulham (A)
    Man City (H)
    Man Utd (A)
    Arsenal (A)

So where are the wins coming from guys (and girls)? We're a third of the way through the season, it's not early days any more. If we were playing well and not picking up points then I doubt people (such as me) would be so vocal about the manager, but there's no denying there was a complete lack of fight out on the pitch today.

When Colo returns for Stoke, draw. Loss to Fulham (don't we always?). Narrow loss to Man City. Loss to Man Utd. Draw with Arsenal. People frothing because we're in the relegation zone after a hard run of fixtures and an injury crisis. A couple decent signings in January, progress in Europe and a mid-table finish when we finally start getting to play our preferred team regularly.

How may I ask is one third of a ****e season enough to completely cancel out a FULL SEASON of performances above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for. We have the most fickle fans in the league. Pardew is getting EVERYTHING wrong right now, but **** me that doesn't mean he should be sacked. As a fan base, we are in the bottom 3 in the league (thank **** the mackems are in there aswell), we will never be happy. We don't deserve all the success that a lot of you claim we do. Shameful.

Well you've deliberately left out games that we have a great chance of winning, so I shall retort with a post of similar sense to your own:

    Wigan (h)
    QPR (h)
    Norwich (a)
    Reading (h)
    Villa (a)

5 of our next 11 games, I think we're going to be unbeaten in 3 months time! <diva>

It's a third of a season where nothing is improving, we're regressing game by game. We don't deserve the points haul that we currently have and today the players showed a lack of fight and desire on the pitch.

On top of that our set pieces are ****e, with no variety and we continue to play long ball in an out dated 4-4-2 system.

Question time, if we lose our next 6 games (unlikely but not impossible) would you still want Pardew in charge? As you seem to be going by the theory he should have the entire season in charge based on last year.

Yes I would. I agree we are getting worse and worse. But that doesn't mean he shouldn't be afforded the chance to turn it round. Not one of us questioned Pardew last year, so clearly we all believe he has the potential to be a great manager for us. I am as unhappy as the next man with the long ball, 4-4-2, set pieces etc etc. But Pardew deserves a full season to try and sort it out. If we are doing the same kind of things a couple of months into next season, I will be at the forefront of those calling for his head.
Also, as I posted on another website, he needs to start taking the cups ****ing seriously, because deliberately going out of the League Cup really helped our league form...
