I just watched the Hatton comeback fight. Ricky looked a bit rusty and Senchenko wasn't too shabby. The body shot which floored him was a good'un but they can come at any time in any round given the right circumstances (Hatton did it himself against Castillo). However, all across the BBC, Primetime, Sky, etc, they are all, to a man, saying that this HAS to be the end for Hatton. I am not saying it isn't the end but I just wish they would get off the f_cking bandwagon. He is still only 34 and has come back after 3 years and having defeated a terrible drug problem. He will not be at his best. But that is not to say he won't get better. Are these people really so sure that if continues to train and spar and fight he won't get better? How about he has another five fights over the next two years? Maybe he wins them all. Maybe he loses one or two. There are not too many undefeated boxers. Tomorrow all the headlines will be full of praise for his 'brave' attempt together with calls for him to retire. What the jumping f_ck? It was a defeat to a decent fighter after a competent display. Why is everything with the press these days all hyperbole and soundbites. The world is grey and not black and white.
LOL It's not a terrible drug problem, people in certain Manchester circles KNOW that he only had the odd line of coke, nothing as bad as his Guinness habit The truth is, he was ALWAYS **** at welter and could only EVER fight at light welter. granted a Hatton from 3 years ago beats this guy, he is not only past it, his style is so ****ing outdated its unreal
I love journalists from all subjects... They speak with such authority like their opinion matters... it really doesn't and you shouldn't let it upset you. Of course all media these days is OTT... it has to excite/irritate a dumbing-down world of ****ing idiots. Ignore the media and their 'opinion', after all, it's worthless.
