After the brilliant away win against the Millers next up for the second from bottom Chairboys is a home game against the Brewers who lost 1-0 at home in mid week to the then second from bottom Shots. The Chairboys will be hoping to now start climbing the table with their next three league all being at home. One to lookout for in the Brewers line up is Chris Palmer as good a dead ball specialist as any in league 2. I will be at Adams Park for this one along with the Blue Soldier who celebrates his birthday this weekend. Expecting a Wycombe win and will celebrating with a glass or two of ale Saturday evening
Hopefully we will get something from this. Tough call to say you expect a win today as Burton have performed well this season and we have struggled, particularly at home. We have only managed 6 goals from 8 home matches! I hope we get something out of it but will be interesting to see how we react to a defensive re-shuffle with Dunne suspended (presumably Wood at left back) and Foster doubtful (possibly Lewis or Kewley-Graham right back?).
Hope we keep Young McClure up front but who to play with him. From what i've read the guy on loan should be given a go,he seems to have a mature attitude and is desprate to impress and if Andrade is fit it could be a good day for us Wycombe fans.As we're missing defenders i'll say 3-2 home win.
Well we've taken the lead and it's the boy McClure, 3 in 2 games, lets hope there's more to come. COYB!
Azeez has only gone on with 10 mins to go, so he doesn't get any credit for the scoreline so far! 3-0 up now.
Aldershot,Barnet.Wimbledon and Plymouth all lost and Bristol Rovers drew so we are up to 19th after scoring 6 goals in 2 league games, what the hell is happening? Well done Matt Mcclure for scoring another brace.
fantastic day today - great to see the goals coming back and we played burton off the park in the second half. fist half we started well, scored but then let burton back in. as soon as burton went down to 10 men they were no where ratings archer - 6 - looked solid, not a lot to do but dropped a couple of crosses wood - 8 - good defensively, went forward well and set up mcclures second with a fantastic cross winfield - 7 - looks the winfield of old, rock at the back but still some dodgy distribution. delt with zola well, but he looked very poor johnson - 7 - very good without being overly spectacular lewis - 6 - struggled to start but came into the game well and didnt look too bad given he was out of position grant - 8 - tricky, had the opposition in knots in the second half. great through ball for mcclure to win the pen but forced off in the end, hopefully not too bad an injury scowen - 7 - typical scowen performance kewley graham - 6 - looked a bit uncomfortable, tried to do more than he had to for most of the game. settled in though andrade - 6 - good when he got the ball but very anonymous morgan - 9 - it pains me to say this..... he was fantastic today. worked hard and should have been given 2 penaltys in the second half mcclure - 9 - excellent today, 2 well taken goals and some fantastic link up play with grant and morgan. my MOTM morias, azeez anda youngster wos name escapes me came on too late to make an impact
What a great day. Missed it all. Switched on just after going 1-0 up then had to go out. Just got back and delighted to see the scoreline, Come on you Bloooooooooooooooooooos
Great game today in very poor weather I thought the first half was fairly even, the one chance we had we scored the second half for a ten-fifteen minute spell we completley played Burton off the park down the left hand side apart from the goal & penalty Morgan hit the post after the best move of the match. We could have had another two penalties & McClure just headed wide for what could have been a hat trick.
It's amazing how much more quickly the game goes when you are 3-0 up against 10 men. Yes, the last half hour was against 10 men but given: a) we had two midfielders playing in the full-back roles and b) the two central midfield players hadn't started a single league game before this season it was very encouraging Good to see McClure scoring again, and almost as importantly managing to play back-to-back matches. Waddock was rarely in a position to play him because he was hardly ever fit for long. Still worried about Archer - although he came for a couple of crosses he flapped rather than catching or punching decisevly. Having said that his handling on the ground was strong, especially given the conditions.
