Posted this on anther thread, where it will be submerged, so thought I'd start a new one....

Out of interest what do you think Arry should achieve in the run up to the transfer window? Sunderland, Villa, Wigan, Fulham, Newcastle, West Brom, Liverpool, 4 at home. What does good look like from this potential 21 points? Should we be out of the bottom 3 by January 1st 2013? After today this is perhaps the easiest run of games for the rest of the season, West Brom highest amongst them.

If the problem with our team is mainly motivation (as well as defence and attack of course) and Harry's chief asset according to many on here is 'man management' I would expect 10-12 points from these games, and hopefully out of the bottom 3 on New Years Day. Being ahead of at least 3 others is more important than points, obviously.

    Thoughts?

I think being off the bottom going into jan 1st is first target.
From there we have a chance. Have to reel two teams with half a season left.

Targets are meant to be challenging but achievable.

With that in mind I think 12 points should be the aim.

I don't really care where the other teams are in relation to us (possibly excepting a psychological boost if we climb a place or two) since, irrespective of position at the turn of the year, 40 points for the season holds fairly consistently.

    Man Utd - 0
    Sunderland - 1
    Aston Villa - 3
    Wigan - 3
    Fulham - 3
    Newcastle - 0
    WBA - 3
    Liverpool - 1

I think thats pretty reasonable and would see us on the edge or out of the relegation zone.

I think it will take a miracle for us to stay up. A third if the season already gone and we only have 4 bloody points. IMHO those talking about being out of the bottom three by New Year's Day are way off the mark. It may talk the rest of the season for us to scrape out. I'm as optimistic as everybody else but I'm also a realist.

The difference is with us its all mental problems, all he has to do is to get the players playing for the club, the fans and each other. Thats easier than needing half a new team in January.

We could easily be out of the bottom 3 as Sunderland are on a terrible run and Villa are awful so we could be within touching distance next weekend.
