Very nice of Simon to think we are not entirely without quality, perhaps one or two of our qualityless players may surprise him? Anyway, I guess we will see Frimpong in the starting 11 and I expect the team will be - .....................Hamer................... Solly...Cort.....Morrow....Seabourne ..Frimpong...Stephens....Jackson.. Haynes...............................Kerkar .................Hulse................... Subs Button Taylor Green Pritchard BWP Kermit Jonsson (sp) he'll be back at Wolves as soon as his loan finishes AllHell
Normally The Doctor doesn't like to change a winning team, but he'll make an exception bringing Frimpong in. The only question is will he drop Pritchard for Stephens, bearing in mind that we don't have a wide right player this one could go either way. The biggest cheer may be for Kermit on the bench. I expect this to be the match where our home form turns the corner.
How gracious of Mr. Grayson to say so...what an oaf. I hope we completely stuff them after that crass remark, and quite frankly, it's what I expect. I agree with you FHB, the tide has turned and home form is going to be on the up from here on in. I'm going for a 2-0 win to us here and a commanding performance to boot. And just for the record, nothing against 'Udders or their splendid fans, whose presence is sorely missed on not606.
I am of a different opinion to you tewkes I can't stand Huddersfield there last manager was an arrogant bafoon and Grayson is following on from him.as for their fans yes we had banter on 606 but I have witnessed their arrogance on the journey to and from the valley in recent seasons. After palace probably my most detested championship club. Graysons comments very patronising befitting of this pathetic club
vs (Won't let me upload a Huddersfield badge :| ) Sorry its late but at least its up before kick off! Anyway Charlton host Huddersfield today at the Valley at the typical kick off time of 15:00. In their last outing Charlton traveled up north to face Burnley and came back with all 3 points winning the game 1-0 courtesy of a Danny Haynes goal. Johnnie Jackson had earlier missed a pen and Kieran Trippier was sent off for Burnley. Huddersfield hosted Brighton last weekend and were beaten 2-1 with Will Buckley bagging a brace for Brighton and Simon Church getting a late consolation. Charltons Home Form W2 D2 L4 F10 A14 PTS8 Huddersfields Away Form W4 D1 L3 F11 A12 PTS13 Previous Meetings Huddersfield Town 1-0 Charlton Athletic 24/03/2012 Charlton Athletic 2-0 Huddersfield Town 28/11/2011 Charlton Athletic 0-1 Huddersfield Town 16/04/2011 Huddersfield Town 3-1 Charlton Athletic 28/08/2010 Huddersfield Town 1-1 Charlton Athletic 27/03/2010 Top Three Goalscorers- Charlton Athletic - Burnley 4 Jackson - 4 Novak 3 Haynes - 3 Beckford 2 Fuller - 3 Norwood Team to play Huddersfield - Hamer Solly Morrison Cort Seabourne Haynes Stephens Frimpong Jackson Kerkar Fuller Subs Button Dervite Hulse Cook Pritchard Green Wright-Phillips Can we make it 4 wins on the bounce? I think so Huddersfield at home is a very winnable game as we showed last season when we ended their long unbeaten run. Obviously they lost their star player in Jordan Rhodes over the summer but I believe in losing him they have become more of a team. In Oliver Norwood they have a dead ball specialist so we best not be giving any stupid fouls away around our penalty area. Huddersfield sit 8th in the league and if we win we will be within 1 point of them and if results go our way we could be as high as 9th this evening. I'm gonna go for a repeat of last year and a 2-0 win. Once again apologises for the thread being so late.
Re: AllHell's predicted 18: CP will change a winning team because he won't start with Jonsson. That leaves "perm three from four" in centre midfield. I don't think he will drop Pritchard so Frimpong may start on the bench for this one and start the game on Tuesday instead. But if Stephens could use another three days to get fitter then Frimpong will start in his place. I would prefer to see Jackson left out but that won't happen. Dervite and Fuller will be on the bench but too early for Kermit.
A fit-ish side to pick from is very interesting Hamer solly morro Cort Seabourne Haynes Stephens Frimpong Jackson Hulse Fuller Not sure if that'd be my way to go, but something I can see happening. It's going to be a very tough game indeed, but we need this match to solidify our form as legit
Perhaps the mods could kindly merge this thread with AllHell's one otherwise posts are going to be split between the two? Any costs entailed charge to Belvedere. He's a student and loaded.
Please don't merge otherwise (as mine was started first) it would replace Belv's. I'll tell people to stop using mine Belv
Right, I've merged them but done it the wrong way round. I apologise, but I've just woken up, I'm very hungover and haven't had a bacon sandwich yet. As for the game, I expect a much better 'udders side than last season. If Vaughn and Beckford are on form, then it will be a massive test for morro and cort. We really need to get on top in midfield and stop any service to them, so I'd be interested to see if Frimpong does start, and hoping alongside Stephens. I think it will be a frustrating afternoon and think it will finish 1-1.
Better late than never, Belv! According to the BBC, Vaughan is out and Beckford is doubtful, but with accuracy being optional at the BBC at the moment, expect them both to line up - and, like Mike T said, be completely shackled.
Charlton: Hamer; Solly, Morrison, Cort, Jackson (c); Pritchard, Stephens, Frimpong, Kerkar; Fuller, Hulse subs: Button, Dervite, Taylor, Green, Jonsson, Kermorgant, Wright-Phillips
Doesn't feel right not being at The Valley today. Seabourne being out is far from ideal, Jackson is no left back. Fuller and Hulse is a decent top 2 though, definitely goals in this, 3-1 to us, Fuller, Frimpong and Kermorgant off the bench, COYA
Afternoon lads Interesting that Jacko's at LB again. Fuller and Frimpong will give us A LOT of physical presence.
