Good points Roo and it needs to be repeated, I've no doubt Harry would have struggled too with all the absent players, having said that Harry was not trying to change the playing style as well so it would have been a little less complicated although whether any more effective I'm not sure. It might have even been worse.
cheers spurf I'm sort of hoping that some of the guys who aren't fond of AVB will reply to the post. I think there's a few fair unbiased points in there (I am completely on the fence). he's not impressed me, but those comments are what I believe to be the reality of the situation. but Everyone's opinion is valid, and for those who have already lost faith in the manager, I' just interested to see their take on the points I have made. - such as injuries, poor signings, and lack of the correct replacements. Interested to see how others have come to their conclusion. - and how their thoughts on 3 major points above have influenced their decision to still be so anti AVB.
I like Huddlefro's team too, but would give Walker a rest. He's clearly swapped places with his less talented twin brother this season. Let's see Naughton on the right and see what happens.
What are you like! You know full well that we'll lose 1-2, having scored in the first half, and conceding in the last minute of extra time. Plus, Donkey is bound to score, simply to piss me off.
Just thought I would let you all know that Jarvis is fit for Sunday but Benayoun is still out. We looked very short of creativity against stoke without these 2 in the side so having one of them back will give us a bit more in attack. Benayoun is a big miss for us though. I'm going for a narrow Spurs win in this. Hope I am wrong!
Can't see us winning this. We just can't defend at the moment - and we're struggling in the middle. Oh and don't forget up front! If it hadn't been for Lloris on Thursday, we'd have lost about 4-0 and we offered nothing, apart from 1 disallowed goal. We'll lose 2-1 I think - maybe even 3-1 if WHU play decent. Then the **** really will hit the fan.
Morning Spurs.... Haven't posted for a while but this seemed an appropriate time to do so! Good luck for Sunday, hopefully it's a decent game and all the fans behave themselves. Really can't see past a Spurs win to be honest, hopefully Dembele won't start or we could be in real trouble with him and Bale/Lennon flying down the wings, believe me it doesn't take a lot to do Linda McCartney for pace these days. If we play like we did against QPR or AFC then we've got a chance, but to be honest I snatch your arm off for a point right here and now.
Dembele is pretty much key for us, if he doesn't start I don't make us favourites. In the league we've won 4/4 when he starts and 1/8 without him(including one sub appearance where he scored and we drew). It's not just that he's a great player but our back up options are not up to playing the position as he plays it.
Is it just me or are we putting a ridiculous amount of pressure on Dembele's return? At the moment a lot of the posts are 'don't worry guys - once Dembele is back we'll start winning again' - tbh I'm surprised there hasn't been a candlelit vigil whilst praying for his hip to heal. What happens if Dembele is back and we lose?
Then we're ****ed If we had Ade fit I'd say we still have a good chance to win playing 2 up front. The pressure is on us performing with Dembele because that's all we have to cling to at the moment
