I'm guessing:

-------------Ba--------------
Marv--------------------Ober
----Jonas---Tiote---Anita----
Santon--Colo--Taylor--Simmo
-------------Krul------------

Subs: Harper, Willo, Tavernier, Fergie, Amal, Abeid, Campbell (is he injured? If so Ranger...;'()

I'm assuming all current injuries are defo out.

Is Obertan fit now? He was definitely on the injured list.

It's because if he played, I'd be entitled to those 50,000,000,000,000,002 points in the TASH Jizz League.

Areet lads.

I don't say this very often, but i think we should play a 442, since 2 of the major reasons for a 433 is to get the best out of Cabaye and HBA; HBA needs to be further forward on the pitch than he is in a 442 where he gets the ball too deep, and Cabaye needs to have 2 other mids doing the dirty work so he can be free to push forward and create to full effect. Without Cabaye we're devoid of creativity in the middle, so we may as well shift the action out to the wings, where if we sort the personnel properly we'll do well there (the problem with pardew's 442 is that he plays players unsuited for the role/suited for a 433 - inverted wingers and fullback, and another fullback that can't get forward). I suggest;

Krul
Santon Saylor Willo Ferguson
Jonas Anita Tiote Marveaux
Shola Ba

Since we don't have a fit 'creative' mid, we have a battler and a player who can keep possession and spread it to the wings, which will be where the main threat comes from: Two attacking fullbacks who can put in a cross on their preferred foot, same with the wingers, they can double up and overload on either wing. Shola is your classic target man and links up well with Ba, a front two i feel are suited for the tactic.

Of course, this'll blatantly be a match where pardew submits to the fan pressure and plays a 433, which won't work very well because the two players that are pretty much essential to the formation are injured (and Pardew will then turn around and point out that it doesnt work, much to everyone's frustration)

Yes, with Colo, Cabaye, Shola + Ben Arfa out, plus Jonas, Perch, Obertan and possibly Cisse all doubtful we could in for a tough one. Especially with about 6 of the other 'fringe' players also out, making the squad very thin. I'm getting my old boots out just in case. <ok>

P Cisse Hip/Thigh Injury 25th Nov 12 Late Fit Test unlikely
H Ben Arfa Hamstring Injury 10th Dec 12
S Ameobi Groin/Pelvis Injury 3rd Dec 12
G Obertan Toe Injury no return date
J Gutierrez Knee Injury 25th Nov 12 Late Fit Test unlikely
Y Cabaye Groin/Pelvis Injury 2nd Jan 13
J Perch Thigh Muscle Strain 25th Nov 12 Late Fit Test unlikely
D Gosling Knee Injury no return date
H Vučkić ACL Knee Injury May 13
R Taylor ACL Knee Injury Mar 13

Current injury list ahead of Saturday and obviously Colo suspended. Just depressing really! Jonas is supposedly the only one with much hope for Saturday of the late fitness tests. 5 of our first choice 11, its fecking ridiculous. Oh and young Campbell and Streete are both injured two to make it a nice round dozen of injuries, Colo making it a bakers.

On the flipside at least we're top of one league, the PL most injuries

So if our so-called 'purple' players are missing which colours are we into now? I'm getting confused by this system?

At least it means we might buy some more 'purple players' in January? No? Oh well, just a thought.

Shola is out injured as well the only fit strikers in the squad are Ba, Ranger and possibly Xisco. I think 4 across the middle with Marveux roaming between the lines just behind the striker. Back 5 picks itself for me:

Krul,

Simmo, Saylor, Willo, Santon.

Then...

Jonas, Anita, Tiote, Ferguson

Marveux

Ba

Lots of pace and fight in the middle and hope Ba can knock some balls down for Marveux.

Yeah have to agree, whilst Marveaux can have moments of class, he goes missing rather a lot too. I would really like to see Abeid given some decent game time in this match, he looks sharp and aggressive, and l for one would love to see more of this kid. Come on Pards give him a shot!!
With all the injuries and all the so called pundits having us down for a loss, what's the worst that could happen. Oh yeah, Ranger comes on and scores the winner, and is given the Freedom of the City of Newcastle, the way things are ATM l wouldn't rule anything out lol.

This for me Ferguson to get some great balls into Ba. Some players today have to step up to the plate.

I just think Marveaux is a bit of a pussy as well to be honest. Bottles a lot of tackles which is understandable given his size and injury history. Unfortunately in our league it is costly. He can disappear for long periods and once the chips are down, he seems to stop showing for the ball. Wand of a left peg at times though. Only thing I would say is having watched Southampton, they are good going forward but not the most physical.

The reasons you mention are why I'd like to see Abeid. He looks better when pushed on and can pick a pass. I think they saw him as Tiote's successor originally but he is clearly more forward thinking. Seems to have a ping on him too. Played a lot of his formative football in attacking midfield (right and centre) so its not really surprising. I'm surprised we haven't seen more of him but maybe his attitude hasn't been good??

" maybe his attitude hasn't been good? Is possibly why we have not seen him more often, from the little we have seen l don't think it's down to ability. Pards seems to prefer Amalfitano, who still has the jury out on him as far as l am concerned.
Abeid is a puzzle mind and so was the news that Curtis Good was going out on loan ? He has been playing very well for the reserve team, is Captain and is said to be head and shoulders above his peers. But at the end of the day it's Pards who sees them in training and in the dressing room day in and day out, so l will have to accept that he knows what he is doing?

Aye you have to keep faith as you say but Good was a strange one given Willos performances. I suppose u21 is very different to PL so they want him to get some proper first team football first. We still need another one though.
