  2. If Chelsea FC is to adopt a siege mentality, there is no better manager to have on board than Coco. I remember when he was 'Pool manager, he never heard or saw anything, and everything was always someone else's fault.

Don't think we'd sink quite as low as trying to destroy a man's career with unfounded poppycock as a result of

    A) Being upset at the result
    B) Trying to get even after the Terry incident

He wasn't cleared they just didn't have enough evidence ie Anton Ferdinand hearing it, to prove guilt...there is a difference between that and being able to look at extensive evidence and listen to witnesses accounts to ascertain a true verdict.

He said what he said, and meant it the way it has been alleged, end of.

This Clattenburg farce is yet another stain on our club.

Mikel did NOT accuse anyone of anything - Ramires said he heard the comment - Mikel has always said he did not hear anything...so he has not made any false allegations.

Therefore he has done nothing wrong re the allegation being made.

Ramires has been said to have been correct to report the incident as he really believed he heard the comments.

The only questionable issue is how Chelsea PR people made the complaint public.

They've said we were right to report it. End of story.

To be fair, he did call Ferdinand a ****ing black ****. He didn't deny using those exact words. Still, Chelsea stood by him. Nice club, held in increasingly high esteem by the wider football community.

The only thing Chelsea should be questioned is how the report was made public. Ramires and Chelsea both did the right thing in reporting what, at the time, they believed to be a possible racial slur, for further investigation, as the FA have stated.

There shouldn't be any mud slinging at Chelsea or their players for doing the right thing.

It just should of all been done behind the scenes though.

Oh, and Spuds laughing at Rafa Benitez. A man who has won more major trophies in his releatively short Managerial career than the whole of their club has since Rafa started out.

Rafa is above Spurs full stop. I doubt he even would of considered them in the Summer if Levy approached him seeing how he turned Chelsea down once before and City down too recently, and both those clubs are much bigger than Spurs.

But they got AVB who is much better than Rafa and I'm sure he'll win the same amount of major titles that Rafa has.

Part of the FA statement following the decision earlier today.

"Furthermore, all Participants are advised to report any such alleged misconduct to The FA. In this case, the player and club were correct in reporting the matter to The FA and it was appropriate and proper for such an allegation to be thoroughly investigated."

Looks like Chelsea did the right thing from the FA perspective.

And THIS is the problem now with all these race cases and the FA's self-serving setting of standards of evidence and charges that suit their 99% success rate of 'guilty' verdicts. Dickheads on here, the sports journalists and single-issue pressure groups think if a white man is accused by a black man of racism they have to prove their innocence. WRONG!

In both criminal and civil law the legal principle of assumed innocence of an accused still presides. The fact that the FA have effectively dropped this maxim when it suits them seems to have convinced some that these witchtrials are now the norm.

^^Most sensible post on this thread.

Chelsea were totally wrong to go public with this. The fact that it was reported by a player who was further away than the team-mate involved (who did not hear the alledged comment and neither did the other match officials) should have meant that Chelsea proceeded with caution when reporting it to the FA.

In going public with it, they were basically hanging the referee out. To subject a person to all the adverse publicity and public scrutiny without any firm foundation is disgusting, and the fact that Chelsea have not even had the grace to issue an apology to the referee is a disgrace.
