    Further note.

To try out not606s layout of spreadsheet tables I will post the final table of the NEW VIRTUAL BOOKIES here on Sunday.

I will also try a new article with the PREMIER TABLE of the TOP SIX POINTS CHALLENGE after the final games on Saturday.

Sounds good PSD. You might have to explain to thickos like me who were never on 606 in more detail, but provisionally, I'm in.

Great stuff, is the nature of this game just Leeds-related or is it for all clubs? Might it be better to move this into the English football board and make it a sticky there so it's more visible?

More like a virtual bookies for all leagues, quite a following from all clubs (including Leeds) and everyone gets on, at least you can keep moderation on here, members now have a link from BBC606.

Up to you, maybe, send penshaw a private message and see how he wants to play it.

    thanks

    brb and Lioner,

Thanks for the welcome and comments.

The Top Six Points Challenge attracted 113 entries last year ( I have had up to 143 in previous years) I get entries from around 15 or so diffrent clubs despite the BBC blocking my postings on the various different club boards ( they called it spamming).

If I just post the start up on here I probably wont get the same numbers...so I will take your advice. I do not know about ENGLISH board or even what a STICKY is ? The mind boggles....

I have posted an article on not606 but which section I know not ?

Looking around perhaps the Football/Championship section would be best ( assuming Leeds are still in the Championship and have not flown into the Prem !!!) The Virtual Bookies would probably be best in the same area. I would have to restrict entries to the VB as it is more time consuming than the TOP SIX which takes 10 mins or so to update scores and post a table of results/positions.

Please advise as to the best place to start. Use a private message in order to keep me straight.

    Also Moderators.

What space restrictions are there on ARTICLES ?

Can an Article be EDITED to keep updating a table of results rather than keep posting a new article?

Are there restrictions on size of REPLIES to articles?

Can HTML be used to display tables in colour ?

    Cheers PSD

A sticky is a thread/article stuck to the top of a particular board. So look at the top of the Leeds board, for instance, and you will see that there are two stickies: the welcome thread and the Old Peacock thread. That way your games thread wouldn't get lost in a jumble of others in the main part of the board.

Yeah I'll leave Syd and Mick to have a think about this, not so sure myself.

None, so far as I'm aware.

Yes, simply use the 'edit post' button underneath your post and you can change it any time.

Again, not as far as I'm aware.

I don't think this forum has an option for raw HTML or tables. Another one we might want to talk to MalteseMick (the site admin) about.

I believe there is a space restriction on how many characters can go in one thread (it's a big number). There are no restrictions on how many times you can edit the thread.

I'd suggest when you create the new thread you 'reserve' the second and third posts in it by typing a few characters and posting. Then you can edit those reserved posts for any future information you need <ok>

Penshaw - hopefully that's answered all of your questions, just remember you can copy your spreadsheets (with a bit of practise and formatting) straight in, using text colour maybe?
I'm sure you have found the 'Go Advanced' button by now, will make things a lot easier when editing, then to preview post.

Hopefully your punters will also find their way here and enjoy the new look home <ok>

If you're clued up on Excel, Penshaw, you could also do your tables on there and upload a screenshot onto here?

Super idea though and any new members it brings in are more than welcome. <ok>

    Hi guys

Thanks for the help and advice. It will be a case of trial and error.

Here is a straight lift from my VB Spreadsheet with colour added.

Lets see how it comes out.

No good.. Had to edit out the table.. spacing and alignment a mess.

Second attempt a little better. Obviously need names on the right.

    Cheers PSD

Another try but reducing the money cells to no places of decimals and rounding to nearest pound.

Not much difference. got a headache now !!

Yeah, you'd print screen, then paste it into Paint (or some similar program), then save it as an image. You could then use ImageShack or some site like that to upload it and put the picture up on here.
