He has a right to have a dig at the Chelsea regime...don't know what he has said about the fans.

I haven't heard him make any remarks about the Chav's fans and i think Roo is right, they don't want him to do well, because it WILL make them look stupid for sacking him, that's one of the reason's i want him to succeed ,and also to bring Trophy's to WHL

O right DL, so no Chelsea fans want too see him fail because a) he's your ex boss and b) he's managing us, who you lot despise?

Sure.

You are one of the more level headed fans and from what I've seen. But don't tell me there's not a sense of worry from your fans that he might fulfill with us what he was brought in to do with your club, before your owner was impatient AGAIN, and got rid?!. Well I don't need your confirmation, I've already had it. <ok>

From another paper...

"The Portuguese was also said to be upset that the majority of the squad did not say goodbye or wish him luck.

One player however, did show his support. Brazil centre-half David Luiz wrote on Twitter: “Thanks AVB! U r amazing guy! Big hug.”

DL - I don't see that you have much of a case against him. What you're saying is then, that he should be treated like this by your owner and the team, and just walk away and say nothing, just thanks for the memories and move on??

Getting the sack from Chelsea is par for the course. It doesn't tell you a lot about the managers but it does tell you something about Abramovich.

Frankly I couldn't give a fish's tit what Chelsea think of AVB that's their problem not Spurs.

So far I'm unimpressed with AVB, but he still has time to turn it around. It's going to be very, very, difficult though.

All this stuff about Villas-Boas 'hanging senior Chelsea players out to dry' is utter bollocks.
Firstly, it was clearly something that he was told to do, as Abramovich wanted to progress the side and move out the old guard.
Secondly, Di Matteo has done exactly the same bloody thing this season, with Fat Frank sitting on his arse more often than not, for example, but he spent a **** ton of money in the summer on replacements.

I have only read the first few posts on here so i apoligise if i am going over old ground a bit here, but, I have to say this is the best post I have seen on here for a while and I couldnt agree more with the OP.

AVB is on a hiding to nothing. you only have to listen to the Tw*t on TalkSh!te to see that the press are just willing him to fail. I was actually very impressed with the way he went for it on Saturday. I dont think the tactics were wrong, just some of the players let him down (Ade and Thudd mainly) even in the second half we started well but left ourselves exposed at the back. I thought the substitutions were spot on.

I am right behind him and if it takes another season or two to get back to where we were then so be it. I think it is a case of taking 2 steps back to take 3 steps forward.

In Harry's last 12 games we amassed 16 points so AVB has actually done better despite missing so many players. And we've played four of last year's top six away from home - Harry only had one in that stretch. It's too early to tell from statistics but the evidence certainly doesn't indicate that AVB is doing badly.

One thing I think worth mentioning is Defoe.

I think Defoe has improved a lot under AVB I think he is thriving in a position where most thought (including me) he would fail. He's worked really hard at holding the ball up and is even trying now to bring others into the game. In fact I think Defoe is as good as he has ever been at Spurs and if that's a sign of AVB's influence on players it's a good one.

14. Yes, I will give AVB (and Defoe) that.

Whether or not it will be enough to get us top 5 remains to be seen, but Defoe is looking a better player than he has done for about 3 seasons.

just to follow on from TMT's comment, i don't think you could have timed this post any better either spurf <ok>

I think Sandro's also become a stronger player. Always been good, but even more so this season.
And Lennon for that matter.
