Hobbs is a superb defender,IS. But you seem to remember that he distributes the ball well like Chez and Faye. That's so very not true,is it a joke ? Hobbs is an all out defender, and he's bloody good at it,but he can't find the pitch when passing the ball, never mind the midfield. Someone(think it was Bob) suggested Hobbs legend had grown out of all reality since his injury.

I'm looking forward to Hobbs return,he'll give us much needed, quality cover, but let's not get carried away.

Hobbs, in my view is a good defender, but I think he is being hyped up a bit. He will struggle at first and I did think his game suffered when he was given the arm band. But I do look forward to him coming back. For me McShame has to make way.

He's not like Chester and Faye, but he'll look for a sensible pass and even if it's just to a nearby midfielder, that's a lot better than Bruce nervously hoofing up the pitch after every good tackle he makes.

I didn't think Hobbs was as good as Chester last season, but seeing how much worse off we are defensively since he got injured (and not just this season, the end of last year too) has made me think he's probably not far off Chester. He can't do the same stunning tackles but overall he's a very good defender and I can't wait to see him back. I know people do get more and more over-rated when they're injured, but I think Hobbs really deserves it.

Just noticed this on the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20386100

"I thought he had his best game for us," he said. "In the second half when we came under the cosh some of his heading ability was terrific.

"His mother deserves a pat on the back."

Yes it was me who said he's getting massively overhyped, and re stunning tackles, can you remember the one that did this to him? Better tackle than any I've ever seen Chester make.

It was a very good tackle yes. Very different to the ones Chester makes though. It was all about determination really. Chester's tackles when someone runs at him and he just stops them dead and immediately starts an attack are pure class though and very few players can pull them off. Even in the PL it was rare to see a defender so regularly make that kind of block tackle so successfully.

I have known a few players that throw up after a game. I used to get pains in my stomach after playing, but found a couple of pints of Hull Brewery mild sorted it out.

Very true and that goal away at Cardiff last season was one of my favourite city goals, everything about it was top class. Couldn't see Hobbs or any of our other defenders doing that if they had a million tries at it.

Disagree with most on Bruce, his performances are decent, however he still makes mistakes and i worry about him as he gives the ball way far to much. Anyone who says Hobbs does doesn't realise that Hobbs if he is in doubt kicks it as far away from his goal as he can, the right thing to do, but when there is an option on he will always find his man, where as Bruce often doesn't. You very rarely see Hobbs last season or Chester this season having to make a recovery tackle, Bruce's recovery tackle's are brilliant, tbut the fact is he shouldn't have to make them.

Admittedly still yet to see Brummie goal, but from what i saw i thought bruce lost his man for the goal and Chester had to cover, correct me if im wrong.

Brums second Bruce and Faye are both at fault, Bruce charged out to challene the header leaving king free in space, got half way to zigic and realised e wasn't gonna make it and turned round, Faye didn't realise bruce had gone for the challenge and king was open, took far too long to react and couldn't get back in time, brue charged back but king despatched the shot milliseconds before bruce could get his foot in. Oli or Quinn or whoever should have been covering the zone in midfield where zigic was led free to header a knockdown is also equally at fault, Oli I'd say.

Edit: first was Chezzy and koren, Chezzy got out jumped by the BFG which is fair enough considering he's almost a foot shorter, but koren then completely left morrison free to run straight onto the knockdown and smash it in. Can't help but think if that was happening at the other end koren would have been the first to react and pounce on the ball to smash it in the net.

Seconded. But it's good to have brave players like Bruce & Faye in there too, they're warriers, they got well battered by dirty Zigic and just kept getting up, giving it back and won us 3 points.

    Chester's timing is wonderful really..

    I'd say its more like

    Pearce > Lees > Peltier = Bromby = Bruce > Kisnorbo

I think of them players Pearce and Lees are by far the best two byt the rest are all of a similar sort of standard. Remembering Bruce didn't do that well at Leeds barring the odd few games, he seems to be performing considerably better for Hull.

Again though I woulda kept him as we are short there and Peltier isn't really a CB

Peltier definitely isn't a centre back and you could really do with someone like alex bruce

That's what happens when he plays for Daddy. Nick clearly missed a trick not signing Jack - we would have been in the Prem by now.

I would say its more like...

    Chester - Hobbs - Faye - Pearce - Bruce - Mcshane

I think Pearce would be on the bench for us Chester and Hobbs are Prem Potential

Well I wasn't using the rest of your CBs but I reckon that Chester and Hobbs probably would be the best out of the lot, can't see how you'd think Faye is better than Pearce though or even Tom Lees. Lees really is coming along massively and is still young, playing now for the England U21s as well

Oh and by the way, McShane is just awful so don't even pretend to rate him

I think Faye's great, not as good as Chester and Hobbs but probably our next best defender. Personally I can't see why he was dropped for a month.
