Just a thought, but if Hughes wont walk and TF doesn't want to lose credibility by sacking the ****, what's stopping him getting someone in to be a 'Director of football' over Hughes? Effectively this will demote the prick and he may decide to walk. We did the same sort of thing with Barton, so why not MH? Thoughts please.

MH wouldn't neccessarily be involved at ANY level. He could just sit in his office and do **** all. I would rather he did that than be involved and **** up! We have all seen players who are expensive bench warmers so why not a manager?

Would lead to in-fighting and give Hughes an "reason" when seeking mega compensation after walking. "My position became intollerable and untenable when Harry (Dick or Tom) was brought in above me. I felt my hands were tied .. etc ... etc".

Playing staff could easily fall into two opposing camps. They act like children a lot of the time, so there would be nothing to stop them playing the DoF against the manager, just like kids try to play off Mum against Dad.

Good point re: compensation, but that would be massively less than the £15-20m that has been bandied about. As to the players falling into opposing camps, do you really think that MH would get support from any of them? I don't.
