We've played the likes of Coloccini, Cabaye and Tiote when they weren't fully recovered from injuries, and it's understand why Pardew played them.

But is it really worth risking it? Colo has looked off the pace as he was not fully recovered when he came back. His reactions and everything was below par for him. Cabaye is now suffering for playing with injuries, and has said himself that the reason he's been a bit off it is due to injuries.

Playing Tiote unfit isn't even worth it. He's a liability when he plays unfit, and he's always lacking match fitness due to no time to recover from knocks. Yesterday he was much better, why? Because he's had time off to recover.

We need to give players the proper time to recover. They may put in the odd good shift while carrying a knock to help us short term, but long term both the player and the club suffer. They should only be played injured when there's no other option.

If the club had actually bothered to buy players in the summer this could have all been avoided...
