I believe that the game on Saturday could actually be Hughes awakening as QPR manager in the respect that it is literally sh#t or bust for him! Having just about done everything as badly as possible during his shocking QPR career, he may just go all guns blazing in what could be his last game and stumble upon the formula by accident! If i were in his position, fighting for my job, i would instruct Taarabt and Hoillet to play closer to Cisse/zamora depending who he chooses for striker and not to worry about tracking back into full back territory. Get the ball, run at them and do some damage, after all, that's the type of players they are. Granero , diakite and faurlin will do the hard work for you to reap the benefits! Lets for once this season, forget preparation, tactics, and instructions and go out there, play to your individual strengths in a team formation. Im not concerned with saints and that's how it should be, they should be concerned about his to stop our front 3. He has nothing to lose here so don't expect any of the above but instead see a rigid 4-4-2 with zamora up front with Cisse while worrying about stopping the mighty southampton!
What im saying yappy, is, he has the perfect opportunity just to go all out! If you read the ending fella you will see that i don't think he will but the opportunity is there!!
He had that in every match. What's he going to do now? He needs to play 4-2-4 if he wants us to score
You're being arrogant and not listening. He's saying that now MH knows this is a must win game, he may have a different kind of motivation than he has had previously, I.e. having a last ditch attempt at saving his job.
Good article Bob. I too believe we will see 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 as ever! Even when he played the 3 midfielders we wanted against Stoke, he still managed to screw up the formation. You're right though, if he somehow stumbles upon the right formation and tactics and our attacking threats are REALLY allowed to attack, he could just kick start our season. Here's hoping!!
No worries. I wish I could be there for the game and meet up tomorrow but I booked tickets ages ago for something without realising it was at 2pm on the same day as a qpr match!! Oh we'll, I can't let others down.
Sorry to do the Homer, but DOH! or may be it should be the Yank way of saying DUH! OBVIOUSLY! If only we would play this way EVERY match - is all I'm saying! It might put a lil hop in our step!?
I like your post Bob. I thought he had it right last week by picking the right team, but he fecked it up with the formation and tactics. Maybe just maybe, he will get it right tomorrow.
But you have to risk it all like we're going to today! Quit the job, grab the kids, tell the wife to sod off and head on down to the Loft. MH is going to........... so why not you?
Nice thinking Bob. So hope you're right tbh. But if fortune's gonna turn for Hughes today, some will always say, including meself, that a lot of it'll be down to the luck of the Irish to be sure x 2!
