He looks the business at shotstopping Lambo, unfortunately that's all that you're likely to see on Youtube clips, if his distribution, coming for crosses and control of possession in 'his' penalty area are as good then he could just be the answer to our goalkeeping problems, long term. I agree though, the fact that he is currently Norway's Number 1 should mean that he would be easily up to Championship football, and probably the tier above too!
I did a quick search of 'jarstein' on twitter earlier and there were not too many positive tweets using the robust method of looking for Norwegian sounding twitterers. Going off only a complete gut feeling I'd rather we got the Australian fella.
Apparently he has a temperament like Shchmeical, which one I don't know. We've offered £500,000 they want £700,000 but talks are ongoing. This is of another site by a Norwegian City fan Norwegian TV2 claim Hull City have made an offer for Viking 'keeper Rune Jarstein. Viking can confirm that "an English club" has made an offer, and that the two clubs are now "in dialogue". Jarstein has stated he wants to leave Norway, and his contract is up by next January - so Viking will want to sell him now, to get some £££. He was the goalkeeper for Rosenborg (the team I support in Norway) for 3 years, so he has a bit of Champions League/Europa League experience, and he's also a regular Norwegian international. Definitely a good buy for Hull, I would say - he is slightly error prone, but in a sort-of Schmeichel-esque way. He will definitely win The Tigers more points than he will lose. He has a bit of a temper, and has these twitches in his face sometimes, but he is also a very explosive gk that can make amazing saves both from long and short range. He's tall and has fairly good command of the area. He's also quite experienced (28 years old). This is very exciting stuff for us Norwegian Hull fans, as this is the first permanent signing of a Norwegian! (If he turns out to sign, that is.. Getting ahead of myself here.) Edit: Hull have apparently offered about £500k, Viking demands £700k. A fairly normal price for a top player from a Norwegian team with 1 year left on his contract, as Hull could obviously sign him on a free in 6 months time (and the Norwegian series doesn't start again until late March). Edit #2 (the story is growing in Norwegian media): Apparently Hull scouted him in the Hungary v Norway match on Wednesday and in a recent Norwegian Championship match. They might of course have scouted him more often, but hey.
Sounds like he has Tourettes with the twitching thing, would all end in tears if he suddenly starting calling Mcshane a useless ****ing bastard randomly in a match. I think Amos has done OK maybe they are worried about Jakupovic being no kind of back-up, the point you make 'slightly error prone' all keepers make mistakes which is why I think Amos should keep the jersey
Jesus, Spoke with a Norwegian colleague who had nothing positive at all to say about him. Bad temprament Many bloopers Has never impressed him in general, and that's in the Norwegian league. I would almost pass just on this information.
I think he'd probably call him a gay porn star: https://twitter.com/hcafccommercial/status/269450255056109568/photo/1
It would be a pretty boring youtube video if it was just him catching balls from corners and throwing it to his defenders or kicking it up the field. There were quite a few videos of Ghilas, remember that.
Looks like the Mariners manager is pissed at the fact that the FFA leaked the story City's interest in Ryan
David Gallup is the new head of Football Australia - he is a media obsessed twat IMO - I've no doubt we are the highest profile club in for Mat Ryan as he would have leaked the other club's name if we weren't. Gallup has been in charge about 2 weeks - he stated that talks had been held with Beckham to join the A League for a brief stint - headlines everywhere, front pages of the papers. The next day the press asked Becks in LA about it and he laughs - said he's never spoken with anyone and it was all ****e. Anyway, rant over on Gallup- tbh the number of goals scored in the A league and the shambolic defending week in week out makes me think he will struggle to make the transition
