Simon Grayson interview for anyone interested from 10 minutes is about Leeds, the guy deserved to be backed by a proper chairman as bad as the few games leading to his sack where it wasn't as bad as what we have sat through in recent weeks!!!!

Every Leeds fan I know misses the bloke like ****. Tears my heart out to hear those words on that TalkSport interview: 'delighted to be joined by Simon Grayson, manager of Huddersfield Town'. Puke-worthy.

'We weren't given the opportunity to strengthen like I would have wanted to'
'Your hands are tied and other people make decisions that you don't agree with'

Andy Gray calls the decision to sack him 'strange'. Keys says 'well put'.

:( You're right YWKB, Bates die!

<laugh> Exodus, I only miss him because we have colin now. If we replaced him with a decent manager I probably wouldn't miss him

He has impressed me with his work at Huddersfield though

Simon given the backing would have done pretty well, but he brought in too many dodgy players and couldn't seem to organise the defense at all. The problem I still have is that bates got shut of him and put Redfearn in charge straight away and said he would get his chance to do the job if he got results. This hinted at not even looking for a new manager and as usual was all done in the interest of Bates and cash. Get it done on the cheap and fook the fans. The season before last we had been in the top 6 all season and at Xmas were in 2nd spot. Grayson needed a couple of quality players to ensure back to back promotion, but Bates wouldn't back him and we slid backwards. Prem football would have meant loads of cash and Bates could have done his white elephant redevelopment work, and at the same time added a huge value to the club if he was selling. He did none of it but still did the work on the east stand and put us into debt doing it. We're further away from promotion and don't have a pot to piss in because he's robbed us blind.

BATES WANTS TO WRECK LEEDS UNITED THEN **** OFF TO MONACO.

Would love to open a skeleton cupboard of Bates, he must have some knocking about and expose the twat, he cannot be squeaky clean.

Or how good hes done with money? and how good signings hes made with the backing?

Warnock has just proven that Bates hasnt given any manager a real shot at Leeds.

Liked the way Keys n Gray said Isnt it funny how all the recent leeds managers get sacked in February just after the transfer window

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What he's had over £2m in transfers,

Grayson spent 25k aweek on mccarntey, obrien cost the club nearly 1.5m in wages.

Grayson is the luckiest manager alive with the team he's inherited

Grayson had Snodgrass, Beckford, Howson, Johnson & Gradel and only just managed to get them promoted from League 1 - team with those players should have pissed that League by March - he's completely clueless <doh>

I think it was a unique season for a League 1 club though, as we reached the 3rd round of the League Cup resulting in a tough 90 minutes against Liverpool and in the round before played Extra Time vs Watford. We also reached the Northern area final of the JPT playing 2 legs against Carlisle which went to penalties. Also the FA Cup we faced a tricky opening tie at Oldham, needed a replay and Extra Time to see off Kettering, before beating scum at Old Trafford and earning a replay against Spurs. Long season for a League One club with poor back-up.

It also didn't help when Kisnorbo was injured in a televised Monday night match in March against that small club from South East London.

From a neutral perspective (although admittedly I loved him as a Leicester player - he always gave 100% - and indeed scored the goal that took us to our first cup final since 1969) he has a remakably good managerial record if you look at what he achieves i.e promotions for Blackpool, Leeds and Huddersfield. You mention that he brought in a some 'dodgy' players - but I think you need to keep in mind that whilst at Leeds his budget for bringing in players meant that he was somewhat restricted in terms of where he could shop... he definitely has an eye for picking out gems amongst those he brings in and he does try to get his teams playing attractive football ... he did an amazing job at Blackpool I watched them in the L1 play-off final and they were great to watch ...

He brought in some dross at Leeds because thats all he could hope for, his record speaks for itself tbh.

I have always said if he stayed long enough he would be 2 only to Don but the cretin had to sacrifice him to appease the people shouting for the cretins head.It deflected the animosity to BATES.He has now found another deflection otherwise he would have been lynched by now has the fans have seen through him

To be fair, he inherited most of those players and his wage budget was far bigger than anyone else's in League 1 - was criminal that he didn't get you promoted in his 1st season <ok>

he did get us promoted in his first full season, unless you're referring to the half season where he got us from mid-table into the play-offs with form that would have had us first had it been replicated over a full season. <ok>

Would have got us promoted in 10/11 had he been given the backing in January, and possibly last season if he'd been able to sign the players he wanted in the summer. Had us playing some exciting football too.
