Eye up boys n girls, Is it time to give GFH the boot? Recent accounts show they are not exactly rolling in money, and may not have the money to close the deal Is it time to write off the season, start the proceedure from scratch, and find new buyers who are more financially stable. Last thing we need is to be another Portsmouth!!! With Rudy out til goid knows when and Pearce banned for 3 games (and Brown banned for Sunday), it will be interesting to see who makes the starting XI.
Morning Elland. Don't think we have the capacity to pull the plug on GHF until the period of exclusivity is over. As for the season, still some water to flow. So not over yet. However, it will be if we don't turn things around with a win at the 'Wall on Sunday. On starting, I would consider a 451 with Diouf in CM albeit with license to link up with Varney or Becchio as and when required. Hall has to start wide right. Makes sense to start with White wide left with instructions to get to the goal line & pull the ball back. I'd bring back Thompson & Poleon from their loan spells & at least put them on the bench. I'd also consider a back 4 to include Pugh at LB & Kisnorbo at CB.
Morning Boggers, Apparantly only a few days away from the exclusivity period is over, and they are finding it difficult to find the cash.
I've been getting more and more depressed over the last 3 seasons, and especially now. This summer with all the T/O talk I assumed that a new owner with plenty of cash was coming in. Bates would be gone, ER and TA purchased and Warnock having a decent budget for players. Promotion was supposed to be the new owners priority and a big push would be made. Well 6-months on we still have Bates at the helm, the new owners pulled out leaving GFH to do it themselves and no money for players. well into the season and some shocking results and performances sees us languishing in 18th place and closer to the drop zone than ever before. My club's become a soap opera and we are yet again a laughing stock and the butt of jokes. Batescunt can walk away with £40m after putting zero money into the club and watched it slide backwards. He's even mortgaged us up to the hilt so that he can leave us in debt, yet he's stashed our cash for years in his offshore accounts. I don't care who plays this weekend as long as they give their all and work for the shirt
Morning to you all, Ben Jacobs has said on twitter that the T/O is complete and has been sent to the Football league for approval. How long will that take. So other joker on twitter has said that the F/L will proberly take 15pts off us they usually do. Anyway here's hoping they have the cash to slash.
Morning everyone, As much bullshit there is on twitter, Ben Jacobs has usually posted stuff thats pretty much bang on correct. Not sure whether to believe in all this they don't have money talk and that they could ruin us.
How the FA allow what Bates is doing to a club of Leeds United stature is beyond me, he is blatantly wrecking the club, and i have a vague memory of Bates saying he would love to rid Leeds United from the football league during his tenure at Chelsea after there was some crowd trouble at the Bridge?? GFH have taken the piss far too long, this consortium are made up from Dubai and Bahrain based companies.....Dubai is in financial trouble and is run by the Russian mafia, Bahrain have the begging bowl out to neighbouring arab countries to fund ther oil line upgrades, so i personally think we should forget them. I have been a Leeds fan for many a year and i cannot recall myself being a more pissed off person than i really am at this present moment in time, so the closing line is " go **** yourself Bates you twat of a person, & GFH hope your business implodes and your board of directors are on the streets" **** it i am going home early and calling for a pint or 5
Sod it Pepe, I was just about to post this as nicked from somewhere else. http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/167284 Seems as though it might be a grey day in London, but the clouds could just be lifting over Beeston Hill
Sorry Boggers I was surprised no one had picked up on the tweet as you lot on here are very quick when something is happening, there has been many times I started to write only to find somebody else had posted first.
Gosh Nothing to do with LUFC but check this out I've gone from "Newbie" to "Member" in the last thread, perhaps this is a good omen that today is the day we will rid the club of Bates forever. Hopefully
Sorry that I keep referring to twitter and I know from experience how unreliable it can be but here goes. GHFC have confirmed that the offer for Leeds has gone to the F/L today. The word on the street is that F/L approval takes usually 5 days.
Very good points Doc, I thought Leeds City Council had bought Elland Road, but it seems the Bates family own it, am I right? Dont wanna lose to the Wall. A 1-1 draw will do nicely otherwqise we will never hear the end of it....
From Duncan Castle's link ------------------------------------------------------------------- Football League regulations on clubs wishing to register new directors. #LUFC 3.3 If any person proposes to become a Club Director of a Club (including for the avoidance of doubt by virtue of being a shadow director or acquiring Control of the Club): (a) the Club shall no later than 10 Normal Working Days prior to the date on which it is anticipated that such person shall become a Club Director submit to The League a duly completed Declaration in respect of that person; (b) within 5 Normal Working Days of receipt thereof The League shall confirm to the Club whether or not he is liable to be disqualified as a Club Director under the provisions of Rule 2.1, and if he is so liable The League will take the steps set out in Rule 2.2; and (c) he shall not become a Club Director until the Club has received confirmation from The League pursuant to Rule 3.3(b) above that he is not liable to be disqualified as a Director under the provisions of Rule 2.1.
Heres my take on GFH. I no longer believe they have the funds we need to rebuild. A couple of million will achieve nothing. However, anything will bet better than Bates for the moment and personally I'm willing to give them a little time to prove themselves. They better deliver big time in January though. We've waited long enough for them to raise the finance, a bunch of half arsed excuses in January wont be tolerated/ They'll have a tough job convincing most fans and I suspect will and should be scrutinised from the day they take over
I don't really care how much any new owners would pump in for transfers. As long as they don't buy the club with borrowed money and leave us with big debts, then anyone is better than bates. Then if they worked to rebuild trust and relations with the fans, and restructured pricing to bring other fans back, they could build a competitive squad simply by reinvesting profits in players. In simple terms they don't need mega millions, just the common sense to realise that if they look after the fans, the fans will look after the club
That would have worked say three years ago before a half decent squad was ravaged. Unfortunately, it will take a small fortune, as well as what your'e suggesting to build a worthwhile team. I don't think it's as simple anymore as just reinvesting the money coming in and that will do. Hope I'm wrong
I don't think it necessarily takes a fortune to be spent, you can pick up some excellent players cheap as long as you're prepared to pay more than peanuts in wages
And the common sense to make sure any outgoings are strictly regulated. It would seem bates is only strict when it comes to player wages, money for anything else can go out the door and nobody bats an eyelid.
