Get your bets on lads, both Rooney and Van Persie to start on Saturday http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...ney_injured_ahead_of_canaries_clash_1_1691337 Don't get me wrong, if (and it's a big IF), we are to beat Manure at the weekend, I would rather we were playing a full strength United team. It would however, help our cause if both of these guys failed fitness tests. Personally I think it's just a ploy to get out of International friendlies and both will definitely start
There's more chance of Ipswich winning the Championship this season than both of those players not being fit! Every time there are friendlies and there's no break in the Premier League fixtures, Ferguson always pulls his best players out of their respective countries squads. Just not sure how he constantly gets away with it!
Even in a worst case scenario, they still have Hernandez - who calmly slotted a hat-trick away versus Villa last weekend
Surely you're not suggesting SAF influences his players to feign injury to avoid international friendlies are you?????
wouldn't be surprised if they are both fit for saturday. bassong and turner will handle them, no probs the sat eve kick off will help us - hopefully i similar atmosphere to the arsenal game - although it didn't help Villa last week
Personally I'd be delighted not to see either Rooney or RvP turn up. Hernandez is decent but it is one thing terrorising a tired Villa defence but another to do so from the start of the match against fresh players. Plus if he plays then they don't have so much coming off the bench. Hopefully Holty finds his shooting boots and knocks enough to allow us to defend for the inevitable 6 minutes injury time which will arise if we are ahead or level afer 90 minutes
I would think the disdain the SAF hold us in, remember "there's only one team who were trying to win" from last year, I think he will start with Wellbeck and Hernandez until they are 2-0 down.
He's never gotten over us stopping them winning the title when we beat them 2 - 0. Pllus he had some so called big guns on the bench that day.
Ronaldo and Rooney were both on the bench, but both came on after Ashton 55, McKenzie 66,had scored. A great day that was.
Are you sure. I seem to recall Safri stealing the ball from Rooney at the start of the move that led to McKenzie's goal. I might have been dreaming of course.
o There is no reason why it should not be Holt and Tettey this time it's 11 ball kickers v 11 ball kickers anything can happen they are expected to win we are expected to lose so no pressure would be so sweet to beat the them
We played them off the park the last time they came here, and we're so unlucky to lose in the 94th minute. Same again guys, Holt gets 2.
Yes, I well remember watching it in a bar in Paphos - the only Canaries fan there!!!! I'll be there on Sat though - I'm not missing this one!!!!
Yes,you are right,Ronaldo came on after 22mins and Rooney at half time. Ruud van Nistelrooy after 63 mins. So we played against a stronger team than I remembered Time is obviously clouding my memory
I was there, sitting watching in slow motion as Giggs got in at the far post............still not sure it actually happened, absolutely distraught at the time, total disbelief, we didn't deserve that!
It is not sour grapes with me as many other people who I work with who all support (really?) other clubs have all expressed the same opinion as me that Manure have never been as spawny as they have this season. Every decision seems to be going their way.
