Notice lots of people are very much against buying zaha on the basis that he plays in the championship. I was jus wondering if the level of the championship is somehwhat under rated by prem supporters. I would personally gladly pay £15mil for zaha. He's apparently an arsenal fan and is tearing a league apart wherein majority of our hyped up loanees have struggled to make the bench. There's obviously no guarantee of major success but considering his achievements to date I don't think he will constitute a youth signing. Remember oxo was a league 1 player whereas I'm sure Many here would've been outraged had we bought christiano Ronaldo for £14mil amid our trophy drought. Not saying zaha is anywhere near Ronaldos level but no reason why he can't be a success. I obviously want a midfield enforcer as a priority but should we have some cash left over why not buy a proven championship player who is eager to come to us. If nothing else convinces you look at it this way...he will in all probability be a better player than gervinho.
theres a reason championship players aren't rated highly. take Jay Bothroyd for example. He was playing really well in the championship, and the england manager to basically bullied into picking him by the media. and yet he was very poor in the minutes that he played in, and just wasn't up to the pace.
Jay bothroyd is a different proposition entirely. He was way more mature than the potential players I'm referring to and even by that token you can take into consideration joe Allen, Aaron Lennon whilst gylfi was also at reading.
Do we really need another "young potential winger"? That's why I'm so against it. It has nothing to do with him playing in the Championship.
Actually I would say the opposite, Championship players are completely over-rated. It's such a lower level than the Prem that it makes strikers seem so much better. Remember that lad Beckford? He had higher prospects than Zaha, not look at him.
I'm personally a big fan of zaha, and we should really make a move now if we want to sign him. For every party it's best that he comes to arsenal, because he will get 1st team chances and at man city or chelsea he will just rot away on the bench. Well who cares if he's from the Championship. We have Walcott and Oxo already. Is it worth spending 15 million on a player we don't need? Oxo is younger and probably better. Also, do we just like him cos Palace have the same kit as Barca? lol (ok not being serious there).
