    Carroll yes Nolan no

Nolan was very good for us and would have him back in a heartbeat.

Carroll yes, Nolan no? And then you'd have Nolan back in a heartbeat? A bit contradictory isn't it?

We cannot play 4-4-2 in this game.

    Play 4-3-3

    Cisse-------Ba------Ben Arfa

    ---------Cabaye-------------

    -----Jonas------Anita--------

    Santon--Saylor--Willo---Simpson

    -----------Krul-----------------

Play good football on the ground.

I wouldn't boo either personally as there is no real reason to. Both were excellent players for the club and good servants, the club simply wanted the cash in both cases which is understandable. Just normal football business. They will get booed though, its the modern football fans way!!

Boo Fat Sam though. The twit ruined a number of my Saturday afternoons with his long ball ****e, it was depressing to watch. And he saddled us with some ridiculous wages!

Huge game for us today, win and our start begins to look relatively decent, lose and it looks mediocre at best.

Win today and we go up to 7th.

Not a bad place to be.

Its a massive game, I have no doubt Pardew has informed them of the possibilities of what lies ahead with 3 points in the bag. 4 winnable games follow (no disrespect to Swansea, Southampton, Stoke or Wigan) and a chance to qualify from the Europa mixed in, the feelgood factor could carry us a long way. Foundations have been well laid, time to build and kick on!

I definitely wouldn't boo anyone, both were OK for us whilst playing here, I used to get so annoyed with Carrolls off pitch antics, but he seems to have put all that behind him since leaving, so not a bad thing in his case.
I've already said previously, I see them as a definite threat to us today, Carroll playing against us for Liverpool turned into one of the biggest farces I've ever witnessed, not expecting any of that today.......:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Just going to be happy with the 3 points and the push up the table.

As you say the next 5 league games will tell us exactly where we are this season, minimum of 10 points needed if we want to mix it with the top six again this year.

I think the abuse he received that day will ensure he won't feel the need to miss any gilt edged chances today!! We need to play a highish line (both Carroll and Nolan thrive on teams inviting them into the box) and squeeze the game.

Given Pardew loves a high line it should suit us this game. I have a feeling we'll either lose 1-0 or absolutely smash them with our front 4/5 players finally putting on a bit of a show.

I can see this being an awkward game for us, a quick start is a MUST IMO as giving FAT Sham's lot an early advantage could leave us with a very long and frustrating afternoon ahead. Pard's will be desperate to get one over his old team as will Demba even if he doesnt celebrate if he scores lol. Prediction 2-1, Cisse and Ben Arfa with Nolan getting a late consolation with the last kick of the game!! Howay the Lads

My exact feelings on how it'll go. I just have a feeling Benni may spring back to life after a couple of quiet weeks. I am concerned about the back line and January can't come quick enough centre half wise. I understand the risk taken on Saylor staying fit, but he has shown he can't and Colo is picking up niggles.

Fortunately, neither Carroll or Nolan is terribly fast. We might get away with a high line.

I remember watching Carroll create havocin the box and Nolan preyng on the confusion enough to have no real confidence.

Victory would be very sweet. Defeat barely bears thinking about

Given that we had Nolan and Carroll working together for us, know how they work etc, I would hope that we have that side of things covered (if we don't then we need to sack Pards :emoticon-0102-bigsm )

But I do fear it will be a case of players that played for us scoring against us; after his last visit to SJP Carroll might want a bit of pay back!
