Pretty sure Adkins would walk into any job in the Championship currently. He has good stock despite soton's poor start to the season. I have an inkling he didn't want that Ramirez bloke too.
The situation isn't remotely comparable. If you put their Premier League careers along side each other, Adkins is still 18 months away from the point at which Brown was put on gardening leave. Given that Adkin's position has already been discussed, and that Soton haven't had the greatest of starts, do you seriously think Adkins will have that level of support if results follow the pattern that they took with City?
Yeah but, Lost 3-2 to Man City (currently 3rd) Lost 2-0 to Wigan (currently 13th) Lost 3-2 to Man Utd (currently 1st) Lost 6-1 to Arsenal (currently 7th) Won 4-1 against Villa (currently 17th) Lost 3-1 to Everton (currently 4th) Drew 2-2 with Fulham (currently 8th) Lost 4-1 to West Ham (currently 9th) Lost 2-1 to Tottenham (currently 6th) Lost 2-0 to West Brom (currently 5th) Drawing 0-0 with Swansea (currently 11th) So, some of those teams are where they are partly because of beating Soton, and some of the defeats look a bit demoralising but you can't help feeling they're going to have some easier games over the next couple of months.
Yes , he is very well thought of here. Actually he is more successful in money terms than he is given credit for, look at who he has signed and for what money. Managers who make money are rare.
They spent £33m this summer, the seventh highest spend of any club in Europe and they're having a complete mare, I bet the owners don't think they've seen good value.
The finances of the club are very good though. He has a good balance sheet compared to others and the owner is a real twat, he is supporting Atkins and there has to be a good reason.
