A little something found on NUFC.com Thanks to ESPN match commentator, Jon Champion, who gave NUFC.com an unexpected namecheck during the second half of the ESPN coverage of our game in Brugge on Thursday night. In a quiet moment during the second period, he mentioned to "expert summariser", Chris Waddle, that he had spotted in our On This Day in History section that Waddle had scored for Newcastle's reserves on November 8th way back in 1980. Memory man Waddle - while not sharing his pearls of wisdom about pelanties (sic) - was able to recall the "11,000" watching the stiffs at SJP while the first team played in front of "4,000 at Cambridge". Errr, not quite, Waddler. There were 5,684 at the Abbey Stadium while 4,200 watched the 19-year old score the winner against Liverpool's second string at Gallowgate. Still, like his unique match summaries, ex-mackem Waddle wasn't letting facts get in the way of his ramblings....
I'm sure he's waiting to see if Newcastle can draw Inter, so he can get his little banner out saying that he's been seen in Milan
At least we have a good idea who the one star wonder is now. I wonder what other names he's been using, I haven't got my IP address book at hand.
indeed. it seems he's not a fan of most of my posts today I think I've korton to who it is now though.
That's not how you spell caught on, silly. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Albert's Chip Shop again.
