Have I got it wrong, but city play at 3pm, and Wales play at 2.30 pm?
Both at home...That can't be right surely?

Based on nothing better than a guess, is this not an issue because Hull needs minimal/no policing?

Getting older is no problem - you just have to live long enough. <ok>

Always loved that quirky song DJ. <ok>

I spent nearly 3 years on contract work in Hull in the 80's. I lived in digs up the road in Beverley to avoid being deperessed for the full 24 hours each day......<laugh>

Seriously though - had a great bunch of workmates and spent loads of Saturday afternoons with them at Boothferry Park. It was so like Ninian, Fratton and even Stamford Bridge in 70's - tin sheets and concrete - a real football ground.

One other ground that leaves a lasting impression but for different reasons - and that's Vale Park.

When I first had to go to Stafford with my initial student apprenticeship 6 month stint at the age of 17, I fell in with a load of Port Vale supporters from up the road in Stoke. They hated Stoke City with a passion and I went with them to watch Vale instead.

Apart from the fact that it looked as though they'd run out of money half way through building it, I can never believe now that we all went in at I think the Hamil Road end - yes all of us, home and away fans - and stood on those vast unfinished terraces together throughout the match.

I've never seen that since nor doubt will again.

I wanted to go to Hull once, so I put my satnav on and drove for a couple of hours before I realised I had accidentally spelled "Hell" in the satnav. I still got there.

Talking about SatNavs, can you get ones that give directions in Welsh? This is not a wind up question, it was just something that struck me as I was reading the thread. Anyway, with the egg chasers playing up the road, any recommendations on parking? Would it make sense to use a park and ride and get a train or bus into the city (assuminng some such exists)?

    Sparkie,

In my younger days I loved those "old type" grounds but at my age now I'm glad to have a seat.

Always liked a visit to Posh, had a few good nights there.

Hull is not that bad, good bunch of supporters with some cracking banter.

As for Port Vale, yes I think the hate Stoke more than we hate Swansea.

Any way time to get ready CCS here I come.

DJ - Can't go on an empty stomach and for some reason, can never eat when I'm there.

So it's a pack of Tesco egg and bacon sandwiches courtesy of the sister-in-law this morning, and a packet of crisps in the kitchen for me mate - then I'll follow you up there (or is it down for you?).

I think you also have a few more smackheads then we do.

Anyway, should be a good game, im going for 3-2 to the Tigers <ok>
