positives: the lad is absolutely outstanding and would walk into our midfield, only 21 and is just going to get better and better, I have only seen him a few times but he would be well worth 15m IMO

negatives: we have competition from Utd, City, Arsenal and QPR

come on Sunderland lets be ambitious and put in a big bid in January, maybe 15m + Bramble (I know they were linked in the summer) and Wickham on loan, yes if the other clubs bid we don't stand a chance but who says they will bid? They might want to see how the lad will do in the prem first.

True but there are only so many 'big' clubs for all these players to go to and if they want regular games as opposed to bench warming they should come to a club like ours.
The top clubs can't just keep buying everybody who is good.

like I said mate regardless of who is interested we should be bidding and big bid! the lad is 21 and is outstanding, he is only going to keep improving.

I am not surprised that the top clubs are monitoring but who says they are going to bid, they may want to see him in a better league first, lets get a big bid in of around 15m and if the others dont bid then I am sure he would come to us who play in the prem and he will be on higher wages, even if its just a stepping stone which it would be if we had him for 2-3seasons and then the top club came in for him then I am sure we will of improved in those seasons and we will of made a profit on him.

He is just what we need, strong, tall and powerful but excellent with the ball at his feet. Can't see us getting him but it can't hurt to try.

Personally I think he may well end up at Everton if/when they are forced to sell Fellaini.

Hmm seems a bad fit for me unless he is replacing Cattermole? You need a ball player and creator rather than a defensive holder in my opinion. Probably a non starter anyway after recent appearances. One of the big 4 or maybe replacing Feillani at Everton if he moves to one of the big 4.

I think it's fair to say that as long as O'Neill is in charge you're gonna be linked to a fair few Celtic players in the media.

Unlikely that Fergie wants this guy, stupid money for somebody who was signed for less than £1m. Neil Lennon's talking £25m that's ridiculous and you're into Fellaini territory with that kind of sum, and the big difference is Fellaini has consistently proved how good he is compared to this guy who plays in Scotland and scored against Barca, I'm stopping short of saying the guy had a good game, the Celtic players barely got a touch from what I hear, in fact a new record was set first half for possession stats. Not taking anything away from Celtic, they kept the door shut so fair play.

Anything over £7m is a gamble for me with this kid.
