Ok so just to confirm you agree De Jong got the ball, no feet off the ground, good tackle yeah? I just want consistency...

If deJong got what he deserved he wouldn't be able to walk again, never mind play football.

    It was a good tackle...

Til he f-ing scissored him with his right foot!!! That's where the leg-breaks occur!

I could argue that's all part of letting your opponent "know he's in a game". De Jong got the ball, his right foot didn't come in studs up. I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one lads, Tiote can be a dirty player (through his competitive nature not through wanting to hurt players). If you are saying his red against Stevenage was incorrect then on the basis De Jong was right not to be red carded either.

Anyway look at the time. I think we've been productive here tonight lads!

Concluding Statement: Tiote is awesome. He breaks the sound barrier with a swing of his leg to ball. His yellow cards aren't all, or even close to approaching the majority of, examples of being stupid... He's got a few of those, of course, like most players to play the game in the modern era. Bloody Linekar shat himself on the pitch, skidded along the turf to get rid of it, and didn't even get one, and you can't get much dirtier than that! <yikes> Also, he will destroy all non-believers, no pressure. Also, AB and my clique is open to any new members from now, so long as you're worthy, sexy, a bit mental, have a Tesco clubcard with enough points to buy a fridge, and admit Cheick Tiote is the best midfielder we've ever had....

Oh, and then there's the small initiation ceremony involving some of Tash's wasted fluids...

    Anyway, yes... Who wants in?

But the tackles aren't the same! You could argue Colo was "making sure Suarez knew he was in the game", and he got a red... That's not what Cheick was doing though... He'd just come on as a sub!

If Cheick had wrapped his other other leg around and swiped the lad, fair dos, I'd say red card all day long. But he didn't... So I won't... <nahnah>

And you will join us... Sometime... Here's some brainwashing juice! <ale><ale><ale>

    <laugh>

    Night lads!

I wasn't able to see the game tonight, but it may be possible that Tiote was told by Pardew to get booked so he misses the game against Maritimo rather than missing harder games later on.

Soem of the yellows he received were absolutely soft and he got them on reputation alone(Persistent fouling? he's way too physical for the Yewropeans)

How come you're not calling for Colos head here? I still think Tiotes red was quite soft. It was a 50/50 challenge and Fletcher came off worse. He wasn't injured, he wasn't even hurt. It didn't look too clever but it was not a dangerous reckless tackle. Colo on the other hand lost his head and tried to hurt Suarez. I think he tried to pull out at the last minute but again it just looked pretty bad. How many times does Tiote take one for the team cause Jonas, Tiote, Cissé or someone else has just given the ball away in a bad area. Most of Tiotes yellow cards are down to a summation of fouls he's comitted during the game. Yes, he's cost us a goal before with his Tiote turn, was it Wigan at home last year or the year before where he did it in like the third minute and gave a penalty away? But he was stellar after that.

Defensive midfielders along with fullbacks are the hardest positions to find quality in. We put him up for sale he'll definitely go below his worth which is at least 15 mio. How cuch did Tottenham pay for Palacios? 12 mil? Not half the player Tiote is. Tiotes form is off. So is Cissés, Jonas and god knows who else. Cabs didn't look too hot at the start of the season either and is just coming back into it now. Are we going to sell all our players because they're having a dip in form? Look at the table, we're not doing too badly imo. Got a very winnable string of games coming up.

Not for me. He is too talented to just give up on so easily. The club have never really attempted to curb his enthusiasm (any excuse to get a part reference to one of my favourite shows). Recently Pardew has taken issue after the mackem game and I think we have to give that process time.

Certainly he needs to stop the silly fouls. I expect him to pick up bookings from time to time, its part of his role whether people like it or not. That is reality. Its just that 70% of his are going for balls he cannot win or silly trips or grabs like last night. Time for Pardew to earn his corn again as a manager and get him reined in. If that doesn't work then obviously he'll have to look again.

Perch is a great defender and a invaluable asset to our club but haven't you noticed how when we play Perch in midfield we're totally toothless going forward? When have we last scored a flowing goal that Perch was involved in? Perch never moves over halfway. He does his job but when he's playing all our football break down.

We don't score many 'flowing goals' regardless of who's in the team. Bit unfair to single out Perch for it when we're just not a 'flowing' team.

tbh it depends who we are playing as to who is better, Tiote is better in a match against a tooth full attacking side, Perchs aerial ability is alright from form this season, Passing is 2 but yes mostly backwards, thats his job, keep the ball and i will laugh on this forum when he runs rings on sunday.

on current form this season if tiote went for 20m i would not be dis hearted. But do think he is vital to our possibilities this year and he is a cracking bloke and player.. We actually have a very good squad atm, on paper. so you no its true
