Not sure I agree on a number of things not just your point bend it. If the player is sacked for gross misconduct I think they may be liable for damages due to the breach of contract regarding behaviour, etc. I'm not a lawyer though but remember something similar regarding Adrian Mutu who effectively owed damages to Chelsea or someone following his sacking for drug abuse. I'm guessing the same rules might apply here?
What about Adrian Mutu? He signed for Chelsea for big money, was found to be taking cocaine, and was sacked and they sued him for his transfer fee, and won! So if Ramirez, or anyone else for that matter, was convicted of any crime then we would probably get our money back.
Sacking racist players simply serves to reinforce a negative mindset on both sides of the divide. Isn't it better to recognise it as a character flaw and seek to correct it?
