I'm out on a limb this year in predicting this is the season Big Bucks finds his match. I won't tell you this is fact, or how much I win by laying him, and I certainly won't be in here ramming a 'I told you so' thread down peoples throats, but I will respect all responses without resorting to 'End of Discussion', 'End of Story' finales. But I really see the staying hurdlers this year as being a strong bunch with the likes of Zarkander ready to step up, Darlan and Rock on Ruby I think will both be suited by 3m but whether their connections target the staying division is debatable. BB reaches double figures come January and whilst I accept he is no ordinary horse there's only ever been one winner of this race older than 9, even the great Baracouda couldn't break that trend....
Big Bucks is better than Barracouda was,and I admired Barracouda also often backing him , and is simply the greatest staying hurdler we have ever seen ! Lay him this season at your peril !
Of course he is, because you say he is, no room for debate or considering anothers views ? You might find people more receptive if you tried ending the odd sentence with 'I believe' or 'In my opinion' Just a thought....
You'll have to speak louder than that Grizzly - he can't hear you I do agree with you though and i suspect that is the prime reason he is no more.
Thinking logically big bucks must start to regress soon. has been right at the top for such a long time and has been a privilege to witness live on more than a few occasions. And as you say, the challenges will keep coming. I will be cheering him on regardless though, don't think i could bring myself to back against this late in the day. fyi PN has said zarkandar is going down the champion hurdle route. I haven't read anything about rock on ruby. most likely defend the crown?
Dan - he'll be voyuering don't worry ! I did post that before I read he;d been banned. Hawkeye - just 1 horse older than 9 ever to win the Stayers/World hurdle says it all, I know trends get broken and Master Minded won the Queen Mother and Katchit won the Champion at 5 but they were the exception to the rule....
As great as big bucks is it is only a matter of time before he meets his match whether that be another horse or age catching up with him. I do think peddlers cross will give him a run for his money this year though.
BB and PC cross have much in common...neither could cut it over fences or at 2m over timber...slow poor jumpers...<RUN!!!!>
Plodders cross has had his day in the sun. Will be surprised if he ever wins another race..and if BB is ever going to be beaten it will be by a far more progressive beast than him.
none of them will ever match the greatest of all time king kauto and thats a fact !!but big bucks wont be beaten again this seson !
