It could be worse, we could be just over 6% worse. So Bruce won 1 in 3 and MON just over that stat, but Bruce had more games. Bruce's run without a win was 14 games, but from memory that was towards the end of the season so no cup games. Our run isn't as bad with MON, we won at home to Wigan and a couple of cup games, so its not that bad. Just need to pull our socks up sooner rather than later MON Games 45 Won 15 Drew 12 Lost 12 Win ratio (35.71%) Bruce Games 98 Won 29 Drew 28 Lost 41 Win ratio (29.59%)
Interesting that if you basically double MON's stats, they would come out close to identical to Bruce's in terms of games won, but we have lost left than half as many. A pointer to our main gripe, that we are simply too defensive?
I don't want to be pedantic but if you win 15 out of 45 games, that's exactly 33.333% win ratio. At Villa by the way, after one year in charge he won 11 Premier League games and finished 11th with 17 (Seventeen) draws. Perspective.
Comparing MON's stats to Bruces might mean he is slightly better, still doesn't mean he is good, however compare them to a decent manager and see how he fairs.
I think Mr Short has to be thinking of other managers, at the end of the day its his business and its most profitable being in the PL , and thats where he needs it to remain. We appointed MON in Dec 2011, In Nov we have Everton and Fulham away, and WBA and QPR at home. We NEED to win our home games. If we get anything less than 6 points, given the teams we are facing in December, then i dont think it looks good and he may look elsewhere. MON has a fantastic managerial record and i hope and pray he can turn this around, lets start with some shots on target against Everton
MON has had 42 games in charge of Sunderland hence the discrepancy in the %. Bruces 1st 42 games won 14 drew 12 lost 16 not that much difference
Erm 45 games W15 D 12 L 12 doesn't add up. Using the W D L stats, that's not bad .. not great but we can't expect much better than that given the number of teams in the league that are " out of our league"
Given that he's done this with a 'weak as piss' strike force, bar the improvement at the start of this season ......could we expect much more?
