Know I am stating the bloody obvious but the first thing I look at when teams are posted is the number of players with Premier league experience. Saints have 2 or 3, usually not playing! Other teams have 2 or 3 inexperienced players. It is going to take a long time to gain it or else we buy it.
Either way nothing is going to change until 2013. Saints are a mixture of League 1 and Championship players, end of!

Ok, but the same could be said for Norwich when they came up from the Championship. That's not an excuse for such an abysmal start.

Say "end of" as much as you like, that won't make it so.

as i see it, players have to become premier league experienced they are not just suddenly premier league defenders unless being absolutely amazing in other leagues. So Nicola Cortese and Nigel Adkins have expected all the players to set up and try their hardest. For some their hardest is not good enough but that's just the way it is. In january we should buy some 'experienced' players.

I was just about to type... so were Norwich... but tomw19 easily beat me to it. Still true though.

Norwich were promoted with a combative style from the lower leagues that has suited the PL, in a similar way that Stoke have succeeded for several seasons. However, they have shown some proper passing football along the way.

Whatever works, I suppose, is the key.

Stoke have spent a huge amount over the past couple of years on improving their squad for Europe. I dare say wages went up a lot at the same time with the likes of Crouch coming in. Only 6 points ahead of us though averaging 1 point a game. QPR's wage bill must be massive compared to ours!!!

I would suggest it is nothing to do with 'prem league experience' and more a case of can the player cut it. For the majority of 'experienced prem players' that would join us you would have to ask why they would be joining a new team??? Why are they not still at that 'experienced prem team'??? And after answering that are they then a better option than our inexperienced???

Do we want to be Stoke and buy experienced Prem players? Could be just like old times with a lot of familiar faces returning.
