Has the Yellow and Red Lion boarded up its windows yet? Footie result : 1-1 Damage to town result : who knows
I wonder if Millwall's recent form could actually count in our favour. They're confident and will want to attack, but I can see our attack exploiting any gaps left at the back. How many times have I read on here that given some of the football we've played this season, we could give someone a real hiding? For the reason I mention, why not tonight? I think it's more likely to be close, though.
On a serious note, apparently Millwall showed what counter attacking football is all about on Saturday and that worries me. On one or two occasions against Leicester we committed numbers forward and could barely get back when they countered. Fortunately a rare occurrence on Saturday, maybe not so tonight.
It wasn't even counter-attacking Si - Henderson and Wood literally won everything against their defense
Stand-in captain Danny ****tu will start despite having a tooth knocked-out during the 4-1 win at the City Ground, meaning manager Kenny Jackett is expected to name an unchanged line-up.
This game could be a bit of a culture shock to our Italian loanees---have they been up against a centre-half the size of ****tu before, who can head the ball 40 yards, and is a menace at the set piece? Or a battering-ram type of forward like Henderson? It will be mayhem in our box if they get a few corners. A lot will depend on the ref. If he plays his part we may get a few free kicks--which now we can take advantage of if Abdi plays-- and may even end up with a man advantage. A tough test for this new Watford side, at an interesting moment in their development.
Going to be a tough one this, sneaking a peak at work. Boss hasn't a scooby about football so should be ok. COYH COYH COYH !! Trying to clutch nervously to this fact that might help us psycologically against a physical side - Watford have completed the double over Millwall in each of the last two seasons, and are pursuing a fifth successive Championship victory over them.
watfordfc v Millwall: Almunia (c); Doyley, Ekstrand, Hoban; Cassetti, Hogg, Chalobah, Abdi, Pudil; Deeney, Forestieri.
#Millwall XI : Forde; A. Smith, ****tu, Beevers, Lowry; Henry, Trotter, Abdou, C. Taylor; Henderson, Wood.
Evening all, as Jon marks would say, "wherever you are in the world". Hornet Player is up and running, GFZ currently saying how hard it is to pick his strike force. Looks as if the strikers will be different on Saturday.
