Don't know if it's been brought up at all recently, but has any BBC Radio Blunderside listeners noticed that Swanny has been rather critical and negative about City this Season. More than usual. He normally says the same old, "Yeah, I expect them to win but..." and then point out every flaw possible with our squad. He also annoyed me when he was talking to Burnsy about Rosenior and Burnsy said he would prefer Rosenior to a fit Dudgeon at the moment and Swanny replied with something along the lines of, "No, it's not natural, he shouldn't play there... It's a liability" etc etc Burnsy was quick to say that Rosenior has played over 50 matches on the left side in the Premier League and therefore obviously has some familiarity with that position. The little things in life ayy..?
From listening to them on tigers player every game I think the negativity this season is from his belief that we are one of the top 2 teams in the championship. I think the negativity is disappointment in playing below our level as opposed to previous seasons when he thinks we are simply not a very good team.
He's a idiot. At the start of last season he said, Jack Hobbs was never woth £750k and just wasn't good enough. By January he was the best centre half in the Championship.
I wish they would stop going on about pie, girls sitting in front of them and what people on twitter think. Last game they went on for 15 minuets about where hull fans on twitter lived. Who gives a rats ass.
With Burnsy it's probably his other daytime show influence breaking through but with Swanny, he just can't wait to not speak about the Club in general. He really needs replacing IMO. Deano would be hilarious!
I haven't listened to them for ages but when I do its mindnumbing, a bit like when you have to sit through soaps or X-Factor on the TV with the missus
Deano would be a good choice. Isnt he selling stuff over the phone for a job? I think I read that online somewhere. My hockey team uses an ex player that was popular as one of the announcers in a team of 2. It adds another dimension to the broadcast. I dont get why the club havent pushed for it to be honest. Do they even have a say?
Deano works for a hardware store selling nuts and bolts over the phone http://www.thisishullandeastriding....ano selling nuts and bolts&where=&searchType=
The hdm angle on this story is a disgrace, it's not a "fall from grace" to have a sales job, selling nuts and bolts. He doesn't need the money just normality, and to suggest it's somehow demeaning to have a normal job is wrong.
It really is a disgrace when we have someone co-commentating on City who not only isnt very good but then asks, every single half-time without fail as soon as the whistle goes "How are Leeds getting on?" I think we should consider some kind of campaign. I'm serious. I mean, how has Swan even got this gig? He's not held in high regard by any fan from his footballing career with us and I can think of 50 local people who are City fans who I'd rather have on there. Gareth Roberts does media now and again, why isnt he the default?
Swanny has now realised that each and every one of the players at City is better than himself and he's never had that before. The bitter old white ****e ****.
I heard that Swanny/Burnsy discussion on Rosenior and I'm afraid I agreed with Swanny. He only said that he thought the left wing back should be a left footer, otherwise he always has to cut inside and it's too easy to deal with. Rosie does indeed have to cut inside, if we're honest, he can't cross with his right foot, never mind his left. He did say Rosie had done all right there against Brizzle, but that he didn't think it was a long term solution and I tend to agree with him(I wish I didn't, Rosie's one of my favourite players, but I don't think you get promoted playing people out of position for a large part of the season). Like I say, he does talk a load of bollocks though, like I say...
The thing about Burnsy and Swanny on the radio is that they don't take it too seriously. I've long since stopped watching MOTD with any regularity as everything is so serious like a post mortem after a game of bridge or chess. On the odd occasions I've watched Sky it's even worse. I listen to Burnsy and Swanny because I like it their way. And don't anyone say they haven't heard people on the terraces (or rows of seats as they are called nowadays - that's a different story) complaining about players and changing their minds about them. That's what football supporters do. I do agree it has become spoiled recently with the constant talking about people on Twitter. The same handful who get excited by hearing their name on the radio.
The point is why choose him? It should be a former player who supports our team rather than our rival. Seriously, I bet there isnt another co-commentator in the whole country employed to cover a club's games when he is a die-hard supporter of their absolute most hated enemy. It really isnt too much to ask.... Ashbee would be the perfect choice for me (yes I know he grew up a Brum fan but he lives here and I bet City's result is the first he looks for now) and there are so many more (Skipper, Roberts, Deano, John Eyre, Linton Brown, Bob Dewhurst etc, etc) who would be much more suitable.
