If only there were more like you kidda but I fear that the die is already cast. We live in a world where immediate gratification is demanded and expected. I cant sit here tonight and say everything is good in the SAFC camp right now but ditching MoN for some pipe dream is ludicrous. We were much better today but just cant buy a goal at the minute or a bit of luck to spark the season off. I fear the end is nigh for MoN because the mob will turn on him in the next few weeks (listen to the phone ins today and the groundswell to replace him gathers pace. Its as if they truly believe that replacing the current manager, who is working with the former managers team, with a new manager to also work with someone elses team, is the answer to all our problems? Ludicrous like I said. Benitez? Not with a barge pole would I touch him. Redknapp? I'd chuck my season ticket in immediately if that dodgy cockney spiv was approached. I said something similar to this post last week and was lambasted for it but I genuinely feel that if the crowd turn on MoN after only 11/12 months in charge, he would lose his interest too and sell out. I know, lets go back to the Cowie/Murray era where we spent £50 a season on players and then scrapped like **** all year until the inevitable relegation came along.
Of course thats the answer. Sell the club one of the many billionaires currently queueing up at the club to buy it? All of whom, want to cough up a massive chunk of wedge - say £500m - to make us a top team. I mean all through the Cowie and Murray eras there were loads of offers like these werent there? I can't think why no-one else hasn't thought of this already. Its so simple. I really think that some SAFC fans have been ****ing lobotomised at times with some of the **** for brains comments I read on here.
Okay Billy, you tell me what the answer is then? What would your solution be and if its replacing MoN then exactly who with and when?
We have bollock all say in the matter, but we can't keep chopping and changing. Wigan won't let Martinez come here and do we want 'Arry (even if he would say yes)? Can't think of any others who might fit the bill. We're in the MON era and we might as well see what happens over the next few months.
Well please forgive me Cest but you're having a ****ing love in with some **** who has a worse record than the fat geordie. I have no answers marra but O' Kack is not one of them. Football has passed him by & he's out of his depth. Sorry mate.
I'm sure MON knows what we need and unlike Bruce he won't buy for the sake of buying (as we've seen it's often hard to get rid when they are happy to sit on their hands). We need another striker/central midfielder(attacking)/Lb (sign up Rose)/Centre Back. These players won't come cheap and imo he will need AT LEAST the Jan window and possibly the summer to get what he wants. I just hope we start clicking to ease the nerves as I know that was probably one of the worst villa sides I've seen for a while which is worrying but we also have to be realistic in that we,re a mid table side at best (at the minute) and if we gel could be pushing for a top 8-10. But we also need to start to turn things around quickly as these things can fester and the rut can set in.
Judy Dench used to be good, lol.
It's not a love in Billy, I just happen to think he is a top manager. Granted this isn't what any of us, including him, wants at the moment but you are letting some half arsed notion about Mon's political and religious beliefs (from 1 **** you tube interview) completely taint your view. If Mon won the league you'd still slag him off so forgive me if I don't take your comments very seriously. Also, the admission you'd sack him with absolutely no answer as who to replace him with renders your opinion null and void on this matter. There isn't 1 single name out there I'd be comfortable having and in fact some that would finish me at the club for good. Mon will turn this round and I do have total faith in that opinion.
**** all to do with that bud & it was actually a channel 4 Dispatches programme. My opinion is based purely on results & facts & the facts are, he's ****e, .
2 FA Trophies with Wycombe - in 5 years A UEFA cup final with Celtic (thats where your problem lies Billy like me and Bruce as a mag), 3 titles and 4 domestic cups - in 5 seasons; 2 league cup wins and 1 runners up with Leicester - in 5 years; 3 top 6 EPL places with Villa - in 4 years. If thats ****e Billy, then I'm a 22 year old newcastle supporting lesbian, who can do the splits on a tightrope blindfolded on a unicycle. If you can name one manager we could replace him with who has a better record, or for that matter we have ever had in the last 75 years, I'll bow to your superior knowledge. I was hung up about having a mag supporter as our manager and you are hung up about having an Irishman who doesn't meet your beliefs which is fine but don't confuse your heart with your head and some actual facts. Martin O'Neill is one of the most successful managers currently working in the EPL at the moment. That is a stone walled fact.
All in the past though eh? Forget the past Cest, otherwise England would still be picking Bobby ****ing Charlton. We've won 6 titles ffs. We might just do it again the way things are going.
Sorry Bill but this is really starting to piss me off, why the personal insults just because your opinion doesn't match his? Like Billy says everything we are hearing is about what O'Neill has done in the past and what O'Neill has done at other clubs. No matter how good you's are saying he is, he's doing absolutely naff all here. Do you realise that we are in a worse position now then we were last year with Bruce? Peter Reid won **** all in his career and look what he done with us, O'Neill wont emulate that, not a chance. Past success doesn't guarantee success, that's what all the O'Neill back door bashers need to realise.
in my opinion if mon goes we as a club will regret iit, just look at villa also our other candidate hughes is doing a lot worse and will soon be on the dole again, i think we cannot get a better man and will certainly get worse a lot worse.
We need stability via long term planning with vision. The players and manager all have ability and the patch we are having is nothing new. As Cattermole says he has never been in a better dressing room, the manager and players are obviously working their way out of it. Fergurson's head was on the block at MUFC after 5 years with nowt, then one FA cup and financial changes brought the takeoff.
Everyones previous record is in the past. Its called history. MON has a great record, yes its in the past but how many titles has Fergie won? All in the past, even the current premier league champions, they won it last season, thats in the past. Jesus..
