I only had one winner at the BC last night...the 2-y-o that Coolmore bought into before the event was the deciding factor...pig in a poke rationale. Had 3 seconds which were refunded by Billy Hills...had no idea they were doing that offer until betting on my mates phone. DR was OK...had the first at 1/1 and Kauto Stone at 9/2...was in the Sizing Europe camp but when he was withdrawn the obvious one was KS on a line through the TC. QDLR is slow...I tried to warn AS...
Jim Bolger pulls a fast one again...he really is a weaselly little toad I was at L'town the day that Fantastic Light beat Galileo. The last race that day was a nursery h'cap in which the Bolger had the fav...and the rag. The rag hadn't a scrap of form, like the last winner he just trained,to suggest anyhting resembling a prominent showing. The rag won and I got stung by a wasp on the way out of the course...I f****** blame him for that as well!
Won't stay and there is no bigger fan than me. I put him up here on his debut over fences e/w at 6's..he was backed into 9/4 but caught a tartar in Bog Warrior.
Style of racing Oddy...he's very exuberant. Irish Points are run at snails pace and don't take much winning as a rule. Also I think he'll be better on a flat track. I love him..so exciting and a huge beast, even bigger then Baily Green...hate these little ex flat horse whippets trying to clamber over birch!!
Do you think Peter Casey will be trying to teach him to settle and race in a more relaxed manner? I have Casey down as a sort of Irish horse whisperer crossed with a sex maniac
..needs more bromide in his tea!!..one of the few who would even get up on Claire Balding (except for RV!). Don't think he'll be messing too much with Flemenstar...if he stays he stays but I'd be surprised if they fettered such a talent. He may get 3m but 3m2.5f is a big difference.
I'd really like to see him come over for the King George. It seems they're planning Navan next Sunday (Fortria Chase, 2 miles) and then possibly the John Durkan at Punchestown early December (2m4f). If he comes through both of those I guess it might then be a straight choice between the King George or the Lexus over Christmas and then get him geared towards Cheltenham with maybe a prep race somewhere in Feb?
Agree Oddy...The Durkan is tailor made for him and it would be great to see him in the KG...they got to test the travel issue some time. I expect the Hennessy at Leopardstown in Feb would be his festival warm up if they decide to go that route with him.
