Far superior players apart from defence. Granero, Taarabt, Diakite are class. How is Hughes not getting results with the quality at his disposal?

Because we are not playing as a team, we are not matching the effort of supposedly weaker opposition and our manager is a short-sighted, tactically clueless c*nt...

Because there's no passion desire or belief instilled inthe playing squad by the manager

Also we decided to play without a midfield for the first half, that usually hinders a team in my experience

Imo when we play (supposedly) inferior opposition at home that line up in a 4-4-2, we should counter that by outnumbering them in midfield in a 4-5-1 with Faurlin playing instead of either Mackie or Hoilett. It's (a 4-5-1) only looking defensively on paper but when you dominate a game it's anything but.

Players shouldn't need desire and passion beaten into them, it should come because they want to play and do well for the club. If they dont, they can **** off.

This really reminds me of 95/96 all over, playing well after conceeding but not quite doing enough to win, I can't tell you who is to blame if it's the manager or the players but something we do need is a bit of luck.

easy answer, we are not good enough
teams from the second division are better than us at defending a ball crossed into their danger area
Unless we sign someone like Samba at the back we are in big trouble
I would be happy to see Harry in on Monday, whatever people think of him he will save us

Easy peasy, if we're playing like 95-96 then Wilkins is your man, horses for courses...<laugh>

How can we bring in players like Hoilett, Granero and Cesar but not high quality central defenders, sorry but Anton Ferdinand is not premiership class. Come on someone at the club at least try to bring in a classy defender in January oh and a young striker that is a class act. I'm sure that there must be one or two out there get the scouts to find one.

I really liked the drive of Adel & Diakite today and thought they combined well.

We could perhaps sign up this fella on the cheap? I see Burton pegged it back from 0-2 to 2-2, but Altrincham just went 3-2 up late in the game -giant killers? they have great tradition in the FA Cup.

    FA CUP LATEST
Unbelievable! League Two side Burton Albion are in a spin here as summer-signing Carl Rodgers, a DJ away from the pitch, scores for the visitors. The Altrincham party looks to be getting started.

I agree with this absolutely. It enables at least one or two midfielders to get into good positions in the box where as that simply does not happen enough at this time.

Still listening to all the game post mortem views - on Sportsnet World the analysts just indicated that Ferdinand is simply just not good enough for the Premier League, and when teamed up with Nelsen, at age 37, as centre backs, you simply cannot avoid conceding goals every match. Nelsen is a great inspirational leader to have available in our squad but, Ferdinand is a definite weak link.

They are also just airing a feature on Ale Faurlin's long road to recovery from injury and he indicates that he has a great understanding (including Spanish language) with Granero, so I do not understand why Hughes doesn't pair them up and play them together.

Thing is Norway....WE played 4-4-2 and THEY played 4-5-1. We were completely out gunned in midfield and the clueless Hughes just doesn't get it....or he's too stubborn to change.
