Exce-sodding-llent result.

No wimpish capitulation, no last five minute idiotic throwing away of the points of such fantastic incompetence it suggests a betting scam.

What’s going on?

A lot of hard work to do over the coming months but a great confidence boosting win and away from home! Palace will be a far tougher test and I will be delighted with a draw at Selhurst Park. Little steps at the moment but a great start and the only way is upwards!

Ok not a fantastic game. Birmingham were awful but 3 points. Praise The Lord and all hail Macarthy. Those last minutes seemed a lifetime with our history of late goals and not only have I chewed my nails off I got half way up my fingers. Blue and proud forever

So then what a great start for mm. I was at the game so fOr those who weren't here is anlittle summary:

First half: I thought we were the much brighter team, created a couple of good opportunities and deservedly took the lead through dj! It was at the far end So we didn't get a great view but it looked a fantastic finish, looking fOrward to seeing it on the tv!

Tbh I was a bit disappointed not to go in 2 up, Birmingham were pretty dreadful and knowing what we are like it seemed as though it was imperative.

The second half was naturally different with the brummies pressing On. I know it easy to say now but there was some great last ditch defending which seemed to be lacking before and despite a late barrage from them I really did expect us to hold out, and that's not often town fans can say that.

So who played well?
For me are two man of the matches were n'daw and dj. N'daw is not great in terms of distributing but he can act as a shield and is very hard to get through. I've wanted him in the side fOr a while and as long as he keeps it simple when he has the ball then i reckon we've got some player at this level.

Dj took his goal superbly and throughout worked tirelessly up front, a proper away performance from the top man.
I thought the defence was more solid and higginbotham
For the first time looked like an experienced quality centre half!

The only negative for me was henderson in goal. His distribution is poor and from what I have seen he looks worse than loach. Along with wellens (despite a couple of good performances) I just cannot understand why he is with us?

So all in all I am extremely happy and proud of our performance. A great away following (over 1,000) and in my opinion good times are on the way under Mick!

A very fair summary PP. I was listerning to it on Suffolk and Mick Mills was waxing lyrical about MM especially mentioning that he was mostly on the touchline barking out instructions and in the first half he was coaching Cressy down the left hand side! What a great display of man management from the start and a lot more than Jewell or Keane would have done. I'm pretty sure that their arses were stuck to their seats with superglue!

I was at palace today with in laws who support Blackburn. No doubt they are playing well and buzzing and Garvin was splaying passes around like he used to do initially at portman road. Going to be a difficult match and Palace will certainly lifted by Holloways arrival, but they don't like the long ball over the top since they defend quite high
