Raylor and Jose banter ahead of the weekend......

NEWCASTLE v Liverpool: the stage is set, the players are training hard – and the ribbing of Jose Enrique has begun. And this time, even a former teammate has joined in.

The fixture against Liverpool has provided Newcastle fans with lots of opportunities to have some banter with former Newcastle player Jose Enrique, who upset fans when he left to join Liverpool. But Newcastle United fans had the last laugh when Liverpool finished below them – and Enrique finished the last encounter in goal.

This time, even a Newcastle player has joined in the Enrique-ribbing. When Jose Enrique tweeted: “Good morning people. In the way to the training. Looking forward for the game against newcastle ”

Ryan Taylor couldn’t resist the opportunity to have a bit of good-natured banter with his former team mate, replying: “@jose3enrique3 Have you got your goalie gloves ready ?? ;-) hahaha”

The tweet was retweeted 575 times by delighted Newcastle fans, and favourited 155 times.

But Enrique took it the way it was intended, replying: “@TaylorR1984 hahahaahah hahaha. No for this game my friend. I hope not hahaah. We will beat you!!! ))”


The pair went on to ask about each others’ fitness, with Enrique claiming he was ready to score his first Premier League goal against Newcastle.

Elsewhere, Newcastle fans were already warming up their jibes ready for the game.

We need a quality left back, he is one who we know fits in well with our squad. After a solid start there he has picked up a few injuries and not been at his best. I'm sure Pardew could get him right.
