    <laugh>

I wasn't that bad, only a few WB in our end and they left rather quickly<whistle>

It was last game of the season and WBA had to win to stay up and to top it all Bobby Gould was their manager. They bought a **** load of fans down ( wearing togas/fancy dress) and a load who couldn't get in were in the field behind the pop giving it the big un. It was funny as **** when we got let out the baggies giving us stick **** themselves and ran faster than Usain Bolt.<laugh>

    Happy days :)

I will post this again just in case you missed it but does anyone remember greasy Joe.
And what about Oscar who used to walk around the pitch and sale scratch cards (I thinks it was anyway).

We thought you were changing some of your advertising boards, so we thought we would help you by taking the old stuff down, and giving it back to you lot <whistle>

And spat on your managers head, lovely <laugh>

Typical hooligan ****heads, and you lot never learn as a couple of year later you smashed a pub in Nottingham right up and threw chairs at old women trying to get to their cars <laugh>

I wasn't there or at Nottingham, but was watching the news and one of the respected managers where I worked was caught on TV, don't think he ever lived that one down <laugh>

It's surprising who turn out to be the hooligans actually. Sometimes lawyers, teachers etc

For some reason I always remember Northampton - we were 2 - 1 down with 8 minutes to go .... and ended up winning 4 - 2 ... plus of course the obvious candidates already mentioned here. Favourite players has to be the whole promotion team - a load of no-bodies and cast-offs with a couple of local lads = magic!! Wish we could re-discover the formula!!

A highlight of every match for me was Keith Valle...the most politically incorrect
    matchday announcer ever!
He was never afraid to go in amongst the visiting fans to chat to them...but some
of the things he said!.....Junior Bent....Graham Whalley.....

Used to go to Twerton a lot - I'd just passed my driving test, so used to love borrowing my mum's mini for the first couple of years and hacking down to Bath.

Best or Favourite Player you seen: Steve Yates - great defender. Carl Saunders for that goal at Anfield in the replay. Holloway just for being Holloway - Devon White likewise
Worst Player you seen - On a bad day Devon White could have a 'mare !
Best and worst manager - Gerry Francis wins hands down. Bumped into him last year - he was coming out of a posh place near where I work in London, he'd just had a fairly liquid lunch by the looks of him - had a quick chat with him - nice bloke.
Your favourite match - Not at Twerton, but the replay at Anfield in FA Cup - amazing buzz.
The worst game you ever seen - we were home to Wolves over Xmas / New Year period. They had more fans than us - they had better players than us (I think maybe Steve Bull was playing for them. Went down with a Wolves supporter I worked with. A fox ran out in front of my car out in the sticks somewhere on the way home, and I ended up smashing up the front of the car. Feckin cold. Crap day !!
Where did you stand or sit - Normally stand
Who did you go with? Quite often on my own - selling the idea of div 3 football 100 miles away ain't that easy - though occasionally I'd bring by drunken Scottish mate along.
When was your first game? Can't really remember my first game at Twerton. First ever Rovers game was at Oxford in maybe 1974 or 75 in old Div 2 - I would have been 7 or 8. Went with my dad. Remember it kicking off a bit afterwards and being sh*t scared. Don't remember the result, I think we lost.

He got sacked twice if i remember,

    First time,

Quote "The referee will be available for pantomime at the end of the game"

    Second time,

Quote "Substitution for Bristol City, Junior Bent and i bet he is"

    Classic
