Buttner was signed by United, has played reasonably often, and even scored a goal. Defenders do tend to give away penalties. I think we missed out on a decent player. bearing in mind our defensive frailties, and I'm sure Buttner thinks he dodged a bullet.
Saw Buttner when Man Utd played Braga recently, and he certainly didn't look like he'd have been the answer to all our prayers. In fact, the impression I got was of a talented attacking full back with defensive frailties. We already have a few of those.
The grass is always greener isn't it. I'm sure Nigel was disappointed to miss out on Buttner but he wouldn't necessarily have dragged us to certain mid table survival.
realistically given the shortage of strikers they have can't see that they would loan him out. Think that we would be better spent trying to bring in some defensive options, but who is a really good question
Sorry that i have to tell you that mr buttner was taken of his lb position and played most left midfielder. Just because of his lack off devensive qualities.....
