I do think he'll get them out of trouble, will be interesting whether he can get them into the Prem though, I don't think he will myself. Still not a bad appointment, there priority has to be this season so in that respect it's a good move in my opinion.
it'll be more of the same as far as i can tell... possibly get safe this season, though i certainly wouldn't bet money on it, then be in the same position in 12/24 months time, looking for the next 'name' to dig them out of a hole. i do think he'd get them straight out of league one though
He has been quoted in the past as defining a crisis as being if his wife left him, think he will be re thinking that one in a few weeks
i do quite like mick mccarthy though. not so keen on him as a manager but i find him quite amusing on camera. mind you, so was paul jewell...
MM is entertaining for sure and more often than not says it as he sees it, and he is normally right. How he gets on in Suffolk remains to be seen so I will hold back for the time being but bracing myself in case he too cannot get a response from the players.
The binner faithful seem pretty convinced that he'll turn things around. I'm not so sure, they're in a deep hole of their own making http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/mick_s_the_man_what_do_the_next_few_weeks_hold_for_ipswich_town_1_1678103
I think McCarthy will save them from relegation this season, doubt he'll do much else though and achieve anything more then mid table mediocrity at his time in Suffolk.
posted this earlier on the binners board. don't know why, it just made me laugh...
I think we both know that is an unlikely scenario ..... In fact I'm predicting that you will predict us to finish a fighting 3rd from bottom (or something similar) by this time tomorrow. thus rendering your prediction of not making any more predictions false, that's my prediction anyway
James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey "Really enjoyed seeing Mick McCarthy yesterday. He's a great interview http://bit.ly/SA8EBX He admits saying: "Oh s**t" when #ITFC called!!" Why am I not surprised to read that last bit?
