What we've done in upgrading the manager, back room and squad this close season has been masterful. How has been luck versus judgement I don't care. The out come so far has us solidly on our upward trajectory. "Being Luverpool" .... Shame they stopped filming at the end of August. I would love to see tonight's episode.
OH YANKEE what an episode that would be , Rodgers enter's the dressing room, '' Well lads you were courageous , gave me everything, couldn't ask for more, your families......... aren't talking to you any more the Fans think your ****e and I've got another 15 envelopes to do...., but I want you to know that I a'm magnificent and I taught Swansea everything , Michael Laudrup rents my training videos FACT.... so in another 20 years you'll be as good as them FACT...'' Role end credits.......
Back on thread Ki, is superb thought that he is growing in confidence and stature with every passing game.. another amazing purchase by ML
What a player Ki is turning out to be. And with the phenomenal Leon Britton this looks to be the start of another great midfield era for us. Ki has been imperious for us the last 3 games. His passing, positional sense and drive and appetite for work are marking him out as a hugely important player for us. Great to see Pablo Hernandez, Michu, Flores and Routledge and Jon de Guzman putting in the shifts also. Let's hope we continue to see such hearty performances from Wales ' premier league club the Swans. It'll be tough against Chelsea saturday but the Liberty can become the 12th man on such an occasion if the Swans are firing properly.
Ki is phenomenal. He just doesn't do anything wrong. His incisive passing is superb. Just waiting for him to score
Quite simply, Ki is the perfect player for the Swansea system. He's unbelievably composed on the ball, his first touch is impeccable, and he's so patient and calculating in possession which gives the impression that he's always got loads of time on the ball. Like Leon, he very rarely wastes the ball, but the difference is that he has a slightly more attacking mind. Add in that he can strike a mean shot and that he regularly manages to find himself space to shoot, I can see him scoring a few corkers this season! Class act.
Must say I'm really impressed with Ki, he's a top player. I know some will say he's better than Joe, what I will say that he's a different player to Joe and offers us something different to Joe,and in my opinion he's a better player than Joe. Boy I'm glad ML got him to sign for us, as he'll be worth 20m next season. So will half the team. So how much is our squad worth now?
Ki and the other newbies are now starting to click and we are now becoming a team again, as one. Ki is going to be very important for us, although Joe was a star, he was playing a bit flat under Rogers. ML may well give him a free role to roam and pop up in unexpected places and of course the killer pass.
First of all let me absolutely and totally endorse everything good that has been said about Ki on here. He has been a magnificent signing and can only get better. Now I'm going to put on my coach's hat (albeit a very old and not recently used hat) and make a critical comment. I do so not to nit pick but on the basis that every good player, no matter how good they are, would want to improve their game. I am sure that Michael Laudrup adopts the same attitude every day in training. Perceived weaknesses in any player are worked on and eradicated. What I have seen, and I stand to be corrected if others disagree, is that often Ki will give ground when defending in midfield and allow his opponent to run at him with the ball, driving deep into a danger area for us. I appreciate that a player sometimes has to avoid committing too early but I would like to see Ki a bit more forceful in this area. An example for me was the goal that Tevez scored against us. Ki was the closest man to him and never quite made up the ground to put him off his shot. Overly critical? Probably, but I don't want my comments, in any way, seem to dilute my admiration for a player who I think has been a quite brilliant signing for us.
I agree Ivor that may be a small weakness - rumour has it he paired up with Tate in training sessions Having said that he is a definite asset and I am sure we will see 'King Ki boots' getting a few 25 yarders before the season is out.
the treves goal was unstoppable, he will score them all day long against anyone if the service is spot on, the one against us was and nobody was to blame for that.....If there is any fault then it has to be the player that let the cross happen. but no i dont blame anyone for a typical goal from a world class player....
Agreed it was a classy finish, Dai. The point I'm making is that if Ki had closed him earlier, which he could have done, Tevez wouldn't have had the time to line up his world class strike. And we all know that time is a precious commodity that the strikers at this level thrive on. The lesson is, DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM! That's all I'm saying.
He's a wonderful asset, Glam, both in terms of his value on the pitch as well as his monetary value, which will soar way beyond what we paid for him as he he gets even better.
