hey piskie why the fk should we have crettenburg fking up our championship race.....my boys are flying and i dont mean ashley young type flying either.
There's a very important game of marbles in Berwick on Tweed this weekend, maybe Clattenberg could referee that ??? On second thoughts its Manchester V Berwick, so that rules him out or Berwick would have their man sent off.
Some are missing the big picture here (IMO). It's not the "mistakes" that should be highlighted as much, it's the contrast in difference as to how the players were treated. There are many shocking examples. Carrick committing the most cynical foul you will see 10 mins in and not even a booking. In contrast to how easily Mikel gets booked. Young (a proven cheat) getting the benefit of the doubt, yet Torres not. RVP elbows Luiz, again benefit of the doubt given to the United player. Mata/Hazard fouled incessantly, no free kicks given. Cleverly/Carrick fouled - instant free kick. Rooney commits two bookable offences, given benefit of the doubt, subbed 2 mins later by Fergie who realised he was lucky to have still been on the pitch. If the allegations re: Clattenburg are true which is looking increasingly likely there you have not One, not Two, not even Three or FOUR but at least FIVE differences in treatment of players and clear favouritism of United players.
Torres not getting a straight red, an incorrect throw in that almost led to a deflected goal, ignored RDM grabbing at a United player to prevent him taking a quick throw, no report of all the missiles Chelsea fans threw on the pitch.... Chelsea should have played most of the match with < 11 men. Yet Clattenburg is biased to United So biased Rooney was subbed to stop Clattenburg sending him off to "even it up".
You don't buy into that bullshit Torres should have got a straight red do you? If so what is your opinion on the above?
Rio's eyes are on the ball and his foot is substantially lower than this: please log in to view this image Maybe if Cleverly had rolled around feigning injury like your ladyboy Torres would have got a red. Luckily his over the top dramatics got him sent off anyway. It was so funny watching him grab his knee in pain one second then when he saw the yellow he made a miraculous recovery. Blatant dive as well, even Le Saux said on Motd 2 he was on his way down. 2-1 down and Torres straight red would have been game over.
Perhaps we should award "snorkel" points for the best diver of the weekend. For me, Torres would have earned himself the bumper haul, for this weekend. The player with the most points at the end of the season ought to be presented with a brand new pair of flippers. I'm betting that Suarez will win by quite a few fathoms.
The amnesia regarding Bellyflop Bale is still deeply rooted within the deluded mind of the average Spud.
Suarez can't win. Gareth Bale has it already sewn up. The hypocrisy of Spurs fans when it comes to criticising other clubs players for 'diving' when the worst diver in the league over the last couple of years plays for their team is astounding. HIAG will ignore it, just as he ignored the Chelsea fan who pointed out his hypocrisy regarding Bale earlier in the thread.
I'm not ignoring Bale, at all. Bale has taken a couple of easy tumbles, when he has been set upon by thugs such as Charlie Adam, and he's been looking to the ref for protection, which he hasn't received. Rather than diving, Bale has thrown himself out of the way of certifiable leg-breaking tackles. I'm not saying that Bale hasn't gone to ground too easily on other occasions, and when he does he should get his fair share of the snorkel points; but to suggest that he is anywhere in the same league as Suarez, Drogba, and now Torres is wide of the mark. Drogba spent half his EPL playing career on the deck, for christ sake!
Playground stuff here lads. As a neutral, it seems to me that it is not a valid excuse for Torres' dives that Bale/Young/Saurez do it too. They are ALL too fond of going down with minimal contact, something that is turning me and a lot of other football lovers off the EPL. The sooner all the cheating is weeded out of the game the better.
