I have the severeset of conundrums - I once had a Senior Manager whom I got on well with apart from one thing. We worked a Logistics Dept for a well known Swedish Furniture giant, the Dept was totally understaffed but still with magnificent camaradarie and passion, day after day they would defy all odds and finish before store opening. The store was the most "logistically productive" in the World for that company. My boss hated it and wished that it would all go tits up sometimes so that we would get the credit we deserve and the real hours needed to man the Dept. He even asked me to intentionally screw up sometimes. I could never do that, not to my staff that would do anything for each other. I left a couple of years later totally disatisfied with my own performance although the team was still defying logic. 5 years on the guys who were in the team are now the Senior Management and recently said: "We remember those times fondly, they were incredible, after you left the managers that came in didn't care and things soon started to go wrong. From there we got the hours, recognition, promotions and tools to do the job, things are just so easy now, not as much fun but so easy" So to the conundrum - I know a true fan must never want his team to lose - but as we've not even looked like winning an away game after 65 mins of every match - and there are no signs that will change soon - Is it wrong to hope for a draw on Nov 4th as Mark Hughes, for whatever reason has no tactical nous for his job as Manager of QPR?
I feel your pain. Results like the last 2 weekends appear to just be delaying the inevitable at the moment.
To my mind a manager's greatest tool is his ability during a match to see how things are progressing and change accordingly. Here Hughes falls mightily short, in the latest game where it was obvious after 10 mins that the Arsenal midfield had the freedom of the Emirates he changed nothing. That we held them for so long was more testamnet to how bad they are and how good Cesar is. I have a question - Taking out the City game - After 60 mins of a match - How many away games have we actually looked like we even have a sniff of winning during Hughes' tenure?
To save my typing I'll just cut and paste the below into each MH thread that questions about sacking and what we want, far too much of a short term view on this board. Firstly the evidence of my belief - Last year I maintained throughout we'd be safe when most gave up and I was right. Now to this season - So far we have played the majority of the top of the table. We are the only team to have taken anything off Chelsea. We were all over Spuds. Everton are flying and got a point. But for an offside goal we'd have had a point at the emirates. We have been ravaged by defensive injuries. Many have criticised MH subs but on a number of occassions they have been forced. We now enter a phase against lesser teams. At this stage I am not in the least bit worried about our position. Of the next 11 games I only see Utd away as somewhere i'm not positive of picking something up. There will be some we don't but we may eg Sunderland / Newcastle. However with momentum and growing belief the points will come. Stay strong were about to turn the corner. You rrrr's!!!!
Ranger 74 I admire your faith but here's the evidence for you - Hughes had no clue how to turn things around last year, he got the biggest break by being forced to take off the nutter against Pool where we were being destroyed. That helped set up the siege mentality at home . Away he stayed the same. Majority of top table? - No we haven't - We still have to play Stoke, Man Utd, Sunderland, Liverpool and Fulham who will all be top half. Chelsea - Great result Spurs - More worrying as we played really well yet still came away with nothing! Everton - They were poor on the day and a man sent off - You're settling for a point? Arsenal are poor - lost to Norwich, devoured by Shalcke and we give their midfield all the time in the world Defensive injuries - He bought Onouha, Nelsen, Mbia (not a defender), Bosingwa,Silva (loan) He decided that was enough Substitutions - He has no clue, starting SWP on Saturday was last straw You're not in the least bit worried? - Then you're a chelsea fan hoping for us to go down! Around the corner are a bunch of yobs with pick axes and clubs known as Leeds! You rrrrr's!!!!!!!!!! - Well thats one thing right - Send me some of the stuff you're on 74 please
Danish what you have written isn't evidence it's opinion, I'm with 74, think your last 3 sentances are out of order
OK Whereever and whatever - How many away games have we won since Hughes took over which is almost 10 months ago? How many goals/assists/completed runs has SWP made? How often did Hoilett pick up the ball just in Arsenal's half, look to his right for options see SWP and decided NNNNOOOOOOO!!!! How many of Stoke, Man Utd, Liverpool and Fulham will not be top half? Can understand people not wanting to change for change's sake, but this season smacks of 95-96 all over again, TF smacks to me of Chris Wright. And if you're not even a bit worried - well I'll come to my own conclusions on that one.
Interesting you mention stoke. They have won once in 15, far worse than us but there is no clamour about them. Sunderland the same. I will review after the games coming up where we have to be getting something!
There is no clamour for Stoke as they have only lost 2 matches this season, Man Utd and Chelsea away and are sitting in 13th. -We'd love that. Sunderland have lost only 1 match (away to Man City) and played a game fewer. What's your point here 74? Are you saying they won't be top 10. I'd go as far as to say the only reason they're not Top 10 now is because they haven'y played us yet!!!!!
