Sounds like Hidden Cyclone won't be going to the Hennessy - owners don't fancy it. Shark admits tomorrow is all about trying to improve his jumping in a small field over an inadequate trip - article on Sporting Life here. He won't have it easy against Rathlin and Foildubh and I wouldn't be in a rush to back him at 5/4 but good luck to you Glesga - hope he wins for you, not a race I will be betting on Tidal Way in the first at Bangor looks a very solid proposition at the weights having finished a highly promising 2nd on hurdles debut. The most interesting runner at Bangor is undoubtably Jonjo's Tominator (3.30), who was most recently seen finishing 3rd in the Cesarewitch under Jamie Spencer and has been running consistently in the upper-90s in staying races on the flat. He will be a warm order to make a winning debut. The bumper at Bangor looks a decent contest with yet another Tim Leslie runner for Don McCain and a couple of nice types for Jonjo and Henderson. I quite like the look of Tom George's On The Money, for a speculative e/w dabble.
Not particularly worried about the trip, horse isnt short of speed and Rathlin and Odonimee will make it a real gallop, not much difference from crwaling round Leopardstown over 2m3 on his first run. He has ran 4 times at 2 miles and won 3, only beaten half a length by First Lieutenant in Group 1 novice hurdle the other time. Bet365 went 11/8, smashed up in seconds 6/5 now, 5/4 gone with Paddys aswell, hes a 1/2 shot in my book. Foildubh is no mug but Hidden Cyclone is different class and he has to give him 4 pounds, Rathlin gives him 9, the Shark has been sounding cautious in his interviews but believe me, they will not be happy if this gets beat tomorrow.
Rathlin did you see his run last time out trainer should be banned for public schooling. Kid Cassidy today was even worse.
You want Rathlin at 2 miles who needs 2m4+ and 6 runs to get fit, giving 9 pounds to Hidden Cyclone And ive lost the plot.
Not putting any money on it mate all slow animals just saying I think in a tactical race Rathlin is my idea of the winner. We will see i just hope I don't make a mug of you again
5 out the last 6 have went to the favourite, some nice horses have won this race, the like of Thyne Again, Tranquil Sea, Captain Cee Bee and Noble Prince, so you dont need an out and out two miler, you need the best horse in the race and thats Hidden Cyclone. Foildubh and Rathlin wouldnt be up to the class of recent winners and you wouldnt call either of them a 2 miler, Hidden Cyclone actually has by far the best record at 2 miles in the race.
Nice stats just winding you up I hope Hidden Cyclone wins for you as it is a no bet race for me and I am a fan of HC tbh backed him a few times. Just not sure about 5/4 in a small race first time out even with what you have pointed out
I'm tempted to visit Bangor tomorrow for the 3.00 MALISE NICOLSON HANDICAP CHASE (4) 3m 110y 6 runners 13lb between top and bottom (Timeform ratings) Top rated. Often let down by jumping Next. Not a fluent jumper Next. Lazy and temperamental. Next. Sketchy jumper. Next. Often let down by jumping. Bottom Rated 117p Riveting.
i've spent all afternoon fighting with the computer so picked tomorow's horses in a massive rush just now. the only one i share with you lot is folsom blue 1:33 NAA. and i've got rathlin/foildubh 1:25 NAA. seems i wasn't sure about tiday way 1:30 BAN and it's in brackets so the result won't count if it wins. i've actually got rapid heat lad/halogen. the only one i went that one! about was romanesco 4:05 BAN but it has been iffy over 21f, but won 3 days ago over 25f (is that a bit recent?). it's on page 2 of my notebook though and i do best on page 1. we'll see, maybe there's some merit in picking in a hurry g'luck all tomorrow
Morning, to the forum faithful. Hope everyone well. Good, good. Today’s cards appear above average for a Monday and I’ll nominate one over the sticks at Bangor-On-Dee to the old regular readers: Karazhan (4.30 Bangor-On-Dee) – Mr Henderson, the forum’s favourite trainer dispatches this one to North Wales and he can be expected to have come on leaps and bounds following his highly promising 2nd at Ludlow back in May. Karazhan finished runner-up, that day, to one of Becky Curtis’ best horses (who has subsequently run in 3 hurdle races and won them all by an aggregate of 43 lengths) and was a whopping 19 lengths clear of the 3rd home on that occassion. Mr Henderson is sure to have performed his ‘magic’ on this one since May and a debut in the old winners enclosure looks likely later on this afternoon. Good luck all.
6/4 Hidden Cyclone with Coral and Victor As fair as you are going to get I think in a 5 horse race getting weight from two main rivals.
Thanks for this SBC ... Just had the nod from a workmate that has 2 horses with McCain (Red Rocco / A Bridge too far).It seem sthere are 2 CLONDAW horses in the yard - one won at Aintree over the week-end and this one is the better thought of ... so It will be an interesting stand off at bleak Bangor tonight .... As I write I see we have Joint fav's ....
7/4 Hidden Cyclone to beat Foildubh getting 4 pounds You have to hand it to the Shark, I dont know how he does it but he manages to get this horse to drift all the time. 15/8!!! Victor has left the building. Will he go 2/1? Its Leopardstown all over again, when they backed Shot From The Hip into 13/8 fav And Hidden Cyclone went off an incredible 7/4
Good morning all just the one for me again today going for 3 in a row. Not even Boris can match me GO NATIVE 3.05 GALWAY - not a big price this one but he showed he retained plenty of ability on his comeback run and I expect him to win today 6/4
You not tempted by the 2/1 Hidden Cyclone RV Stan James have just punched a hole through time with that price
No Boris this is what his trainer had to say He is a three-mile horse, but I wanted to get an opportunity to run him in a small field because his jumping hasn't been over good and a small field will help him to jump. "There's just five runners and that's why we've gone down this road. "I'm hopping he'll win but if he gets beaten I won't be over shocked. It's his first run for nine months. "He's doing everything right for me at home and I'm very happy.
