Curbs has been out of football for quite a while now. He was doing well with Charlton when Town were in the top flight, that's how long it's been!
Judging by the poll Curbs and Coyle are looking good and to be honest i wouldn't mind Curbs at all!! Would rather him than Warky's idol!!!
Not my idol but the only person who could come in and sort out this mess imo. Curbishley has been out of football for nearly 5 years so thanks but no thanks!

Yeah, very worrying in my opinion, if MM gets the job we will be calling for his head in a hear or two, no different to Jewell. Personally i want a younger manager but cant see it happening.
I repeat that I would have nothing to do with Ipswich Town while he were our manager. please log in to view this image "Since a very early age Di Canio has been a self-proclaimed fascista and has been photographed and videotaped several times giving the controversial Roman salute to Lazio supporters while playing for Lazio.[22] He created controversy by twice using the gesture to salute Lazio fans, first in a match against arch-rivals A.S. Roma and then against A.S. Livorno Calcio, a club inclined to left-wing politics.[23] Di Canio received a one match game ban after the second event and was fined €7,000,[24] after which he was quoted as saying "I will always salute as I did because it gives me a sense of belonging to my people...I saluted my people with what for me is a sign of belonging to a group that holds true values, values of civility against the standardisation that this society imposes upon us."[25] His salute has been featured on unofficial merchandise sold outside Stadio Olimpico after the ban.[23] Di Canio has also expressed admiration for Mussolini and in his autobiography, praised Mussolini as "basically a very principled, ethical individual" who was "deeply misunderstood".[26][27] On the day of his appointment as manager of Swindon Town, the GMB union terminated their financial backing of around £4,000 per season of the club due to Di Canio's fascist views.[28]"
I wouldn't say no to Megson. He is a good manager, who gets his team solid. Yes, we all know know (me included) that the style isn't brilliant, but he gets the job done. And that is what we need to focus on now, no point in trying to get promotion. Same goes with MM on that basis. I would not take Alan Shearer, at all. We need experience, and has none of it!
I canât help wondering how many of these pious folk making sweeping dismissals of Di Canio even know what constitutes âfascistâ views, specifically what is the nature of modern âfascismâ as practiced in southern Italy and what was the nature of Italian fascism under Mussolini? Or is it just the usual, unthinking knee-jerk holier-than-thou reaction we all seem to think we have to make - a couple of generations having been brainwashed by subconscious Marxism, cultural relativism and the assumption that the liberal-elite worldview is the only worldview? Say not what you think, but what you think you should say: better still, donât think at all. No freedom of thought beyond the postmodernist PC diktat. Cue the accusations that because I havenât bleated the PC line I must, by non-PC association, be an Italian fascistâ¦
To prevent any such accusations Jonah, why don't you just list the constitutions, then those of us with less "ITK" than you, can judge you fairly!
Oh dear. What do mean “judge me fairly”? Have I once stated I agree with Italian fascism? I merely ask if the pious ones know anything about it in their passing of judgement. Your response is typical of knee-jerk reaction that in 50 years time will be viewed like we view 1950s MacCarthite USA now with it’s anti-commie witchhunts. This is just Orwell’s thoughtcrime and facecrime. If you don’t look and sound sufficiently horrified at the mention of the word “fascism” you must be one, by association, and in a society where guilt by association is supposed to be anathema. I think you mean: “why don’t you list the definitions of Italian fascism so we can fairly judge DI CANIO”. Though I know nowt about what current Romans are mithering about now, so for all I know Di Canio could be hung up on different things.
Jonah, I didn't mean to imply that you are a Fascist, I was merely requesting the definition of their politics, I obviously payed too much credence to your cry of what we, the great unwashed, would seek to hang on you as a label! Please forgive me!
I really wouldn't want to hang anything on him. These pseudo-intellectuals are always great comedic value though, and for that I thank him.
Gandy: The greatest psued is the one that feigns being above it all despite not giving a single indication they’ve understood a word and are even capable of having an opinion; instead hiding behind a meaningless dismissal. But then, when have you ever contributed anything of value, unless you value mindless, meaningless sniping. Dave: Apologies. I can summarise early 20th century Italian fascism if you really want, but I have no idea if it’s the same sort of thing Di Canio goes in for, even if we assume it has a set agenda – rather than a vague, tribal set of attitudes. I might go on a bit, though.
Jonah, thanks for the offer but tbh, my eyes are glazing over at the mere thought of it! The only thing I will say is, Di Canio always looks so angry whilst performing the salute!
Jonah, without getting intellectual on your arse, you are talking absolute bull. What do you think he means by 'the standardisation that this society imposes on us'? He means: keep the whites and the blacks separate.
