This was our team just a couple of years ago. It's amazing how much the team has changed in just a short period of time. Which team would you rather have? I know a few players were on loan but if we had made serious bids for them I reckon we could of got them, maybe not Wellbeck? Mignolet Onuoha ---- Mensah ---- Ferdinand ---- Bardsley Henderson --- Muntari --- Cattermole --- Wellbeck Gyan --- Bent
Yes we could of had Mensah Muntari and maybe even Welbeck if Welbeck didnt come here he would still be on the bench week in week out
I think the players we have are a shade better now. Mensah for me is one of the best defenders I've seen at safc but too injury prone. Muntari never cit it in the end. Gyan & bent on there day are better than we have now. We never would have got welbeck, I believe we did try. The main thing is I don't think we have seen the best of this team yet where as we did see the best of that team.
mon has had the job for 11 mnths he made 2 loan signings in january moved afew players out brought imo good players in (thought cuellar was excellent v stoke) this side are not playing well ,but have agood habit its called grinding out results come january hopefully a few players in a few out,and the club will be stronger again ithink were alright the structures getting better feeder clubs, sponsership( still have doubts about our scouting system)but hopefully that will improve like the club in time
