I'm not here to give you a geography lesson. In terms of distance, shields is closer to Sunderland then Newcastle. You don't have to take my word for it, get a map out and check it yourself.

Your right that a lot of people from shields do consider themselves geordies, but one thing is for sure, they will never call themselves mackems, however the fact is, they are sand dancers, plain and simple and the town holds a 50/50 spilt on supporters. to get back to the original statement that plenty GEORDIES from shields support sunder loan.........well like I said, it's ridiculous. You will also find the people from NORTH Tyneside do not consider south tynesiders as Geordies.

    Lesson over.

Your not giving me a lesson, i know that Shields is closer to Sunderland than Newcastle.

You said it was closer to Wearside than Tyneside.

You were wrong, as Shields is in Tyneside.

Facts are the definiton is that people born on the banks of the Tyne can class themselves as Geordies, and both parts of shields are on the banks of the Tyne.

If you, as a person from Shields don't wish to refer to yourself as a Geordie, then that's your choice.

Either way, you are wrong, and YOU came on here calling people idiots.

You gotta love a lad who comes on calling people idiots (in block capitals i may add), then proceeds to argue with facts, and suggest that a town that's in Tyneside is somehow closer to Wearside.

Yet he still argues, the mind boggles.

I'm not wrong I am factually right. In terms of football affiliation I will call myself a Geordie but I was born in shields. I will refer to Sunderland supports from shields as mackems but the fact remains that in terms of birth, they are not mackems. It's quite simple really, this debate arose when you classesd south shields as being Geordie. It's not the case. I've got mates in Whitburn who sound like mackems, Whitburn is right next to shields yet is in south Tyneside but holds an SR postcode. They won't be called mackems because geographically they are right. It's lime me saying to you the whole of DUrham are mackems. It's total crap because it's not the case.
And it your going to get anal about it, what I actually said was queerside.

Mate, i'm sorry, but your factually wrong, Google it, Wicki it, ask someone who hasn't got a trapped nerve in their brain.

Geordie is a collective term for people from the city of Newcastle and the numerous towns and villages included in the Tyneside umbrella.

You are not a Geordie, as your too ****ing stupid.

    (with respect)
