Interesting that Falque is playing for the 'U 21s' although he's 22 according to Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iago_Falqué
You're allowed some overage players too. United, for example, played Lindegaard and Fletcher against us. The idea is that it still gives longterm absentees the chance to get some sharpness back while regaining fitness but remaining predominantly for youth players.
The rules allow for 3 overaged outfield players. The keeper can also be overage so it's obviously possible to play 4 overage players.
I'd like to see Livermore given a few runouts in the middle of the park alongside Carroll, when he's returned to fitness. Sandro's playing very well, Parker's on the verge of a return and we'll need to keep Livermore ticking over, plus it'll give them a chance to build up some understanding.
Cheers for info YV, I guessed that something like that would be the case. I'm afraid Falque is going to struggle mightily to get any first team action, so wonder how many games he'll be playing for our U21s Falque isn't a long-term absentee, he just doesn't look up to first team football whenever I've seen him. Admittedly I didn't see the Carlisle game, about which I've read mixed reviews, maybe he's getting better, I hope so, but I can't see him making it with us. Livermore may well benefit from some U21 playing time, but I can see him getting very quickly back into the first team via the Cups and EL.

The rules of the competition are that you have to play at least 2 home games at the main ground of the club so this is our second. Maybe another 6 goal thriller.
It's a really good idea that. Hopefully as fans get used to tickets being available we'll start to fill up the West Stand regularly for the games.
Man Utd? Who are ya? The U21s stuffed them 4-2 today, with Croydon's hero Jon Obika netting the 4th. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/News/under-21s-united-report-27102012.page? Bentaleb's first two touches: a goal and an assist! Nice to see Coulibaly back in the squad and coming on as a sub.
It was a thoroughly entertaining game this morning with Sir Alex Ferguson in the attendance. Two good sides and some impressive performances from our lads, including once again Alex Pritchard. Unlike the first team, we actually performed well throughout the whole 90 minutes and well deserved the 3 points. I am by no means a fan of Obika, but this is the second consecutive game recently where I have seen him lead the line well and he deserved to be on the scoresheet. Massimo Luongo was dominant as he always is, apparantly allowed to play because if he is not in the borrowing clubs matchday squad, then he can play in the under 21 league for his parent club. It would be nice to think someof these lads might get a run out in the Carling Cup soon. Certainly on current form, Alex Pritchard is well worth a chance.
Luongo wasn't with Ipswich? Maybe that's why they got battered? It'll be interesting to see who takes over there and how much involvement our youngster gets. Given our lack of depth in the more creative role in the middle of the park, perhaps we should recall him and give him a chance from the bench? No Carroll today, SC. Is that normal or was he absent for a reason?
As posted in another thread, we already recalled Fredericks - so if there's a clause to recall Luongo early, we could do worse than considering it.
I don't think Luongo has been in the Ipswich squad for the last three matches or so. Maybe wrong on that but anyhow he was eligible for today. It seems Ipswich have 6 loanees there and only 5 can be in the sqaud at any one time and he's been the one to miss out. I don't know why Tom Carroll wasn't playing. As far as I am aware, he hasn't been injured.
